Job Description

The Director of Web Development position is responsible for directing the activities of the web team, managing and maintaining the multiple websites at Fertitta Entertainment, with a focus of helping to meet the company's strategic goals and initiatives, increasing brand awareness, enhancing user experience, raising Fertitta Entertainment's profile online, and supporting strategic utilization and marketing efforts.

Job Duties

Website Management

  • Strategize, develop and manage the structure and hierarchy of FERTITTA ENTERTAINMENT's website within the Content Management Systems (CMS).

  • Develop and implement web standards for the company web sites and develop processes to ensure compliance.

  • Strategize and develop a standard for maintaining the organization and presentation of content within the CMS

  • With IT leadership strategize and develop a technology portfolio of tools and capabilities to meet Fertitta Entertainment WEB presence needs

  • Oversee the website utility, customer-first user experience and overall appearance (across various devices and browsers) including compatibility testing and upgrades of the core CMS and site plug-ins.

  • Develop a process for ongoing collection, reporting and analysis of web statistics for team review and continual improvement.

  • Architect and implement a resilient infrastructure enabling and "Always Available" mentality via an on-site architecture or one that adopts business partner capabilities

  • Oversee the direction of development and applications of usability/workflow of new features and enhancements on software applications/websites.

  • Assists the VP of Marketing in developing solutions for the company's key web strategies.

Leadership/Management Duties

  • Work closely with the Mobile Application and In-House application developers to ensure alignment of all technology selections and interoperability of all solutions

  • Oversees and directs staff

  • Clearly defines performance expectations, ensure accountability, and provides ongoing informal feedback, coaching, and mentoring.

  • Conducts formal performance evaluations.

  • Actively engages in recruitment and hiring new employees.

  • Promotes professional development opportunities.

  • Develops and fosters supportive working relationships, motivation and engagement.

  • Communicates information to staff on an ongoing basis to influence staff engagement and to be a part of a larger community.

  • Takes corrective action in a timely manner.

  • Recognizes and rewards employees for good performance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Senior level experience providing professional services in a collaborative centralized web environment.

  • Experience managing the technologies supporting an organization's website and providing operational management of personnel being used to create and maintain content across the digital footprint of the organization

  • 5-7 years' experience building websites, budgets and business plans

  • Experience developing implementing and maintaining the infrastructure, hardware, and software utilized for a large website.

  • Experience designing and testing CMS products, user interface, and information architecture and design.

  • Working knowledge of major languages such as HTML, XHTML, and CSS, as well as experience designing inside a content management systems (CMS) such as EpiCenter.

  • Clear understanding of web analytics and experience monitoring web traffic, performance and capacity to identify, prevent and resolve issues and improve the overall user experience.

  • Ability to maintain appropriate web security and troubleshoots any issues.

  • Experience with content and design strategy and execution experience

  • Clear understanding of computer programming, graphic interface and database principles, tools, and technologies.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, decision-making and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to develop strong relationships throughout the organization and collaboration with senior leadership team.

  • Knowledge of ADA compliancy rules and regulations for websites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience assessing, prioritizing, and solving technical problems related to interactive design.

  • Strong user centered design skills for interactive, new media projects related to Web, mobile, email, display ads, social media, including mobile app designs, web banners, landing pages, and/or e-mails.

  • Experience with implementation of a new website or a large web overhaul of a current site.

  • Experience working with professional graphic design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat).

  • Strong project management experience.
