Job Summary:

The Director of Web Development, Analytics, and SEO is a strategic and visionary position leading the digital transformation of Regis University's online presence. In this key leadership role, the Director will spearhead the development and execution of comprehensive digital strategies, leveraging web development expertise, analytics insights, and SEO tactics to enhance the university's brand visibility, student recruitment efforts, and overall online performance. The Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, admissions, and academic departments, to align digital initiatives with institutional goals and drive measurable impact in a dynamic, fast-paced higher education environment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential:

Web Development

  • Lead a service-focused team in website content maintenance, evaluation, and improvement initiatives, ensuring continuous website assessment and enhancement.

  • Oversee website development projects to ensure user-friendly and visually appealing web experiences.

  • Administer and enforce university web governance policies, contribute to the development of web policies, and monitor campus compliance.

  • Ensure the website meets or exceeds ADA compliance and any other accessibility and legal requirements.

Analytics

  • Develop and implement comprehensive digital strategies aligned with university goals.

  • Consistently assess website traffic, conduct focus groups and UX testing, and provide analysis on trends and performance indicators. Take proactive measures to address any issues or capitalize on opportunities.

  • Engage stakeholders regularly to educate them on website performance and governance, seeking timely feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with marketing, admissions, and academic departments to align digital initiatives.

  • Monitor key performance indicators and prepare regular reports for senior leadership.

  • Establish analytics frameworks to track website performance and user behavior.

  • Generate regular reports on key SEO metrics and provide insights for improvement.

  • Monitor and analyze website performance using SEO tools such as Google Analytics and Search Console.

Search Engine Optimization

  • Conduct keyword research to identify relevant search terms and phrases.

  • Optimize website content for target keywords, including meta tags, headings, and body copy.

  • Support ad-hoc keyword analysis and SEO copywriting.

  • Implement on-page optimization techniques to improve website visibility and rankings.

  • Develop and execute link-building strategies to increase the website's authority and domain ranking.

  • Stay updated on search engine algorithm changes and industry trends to adapt SEO strategies accordingly.

  • Collaborate with content creators, developers, and other team members to align SEO efforts with overall digital marketing goals.

  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify opportunities and threats in the search landscape.

  • Stay current on the latest SEO best practices, incorporate that knowledge in the content, and share with key internal stakeholders.

Team Management and Misc.

  • Supervise, train, coach, encourage professional development, and evaluate the performance of personnel within the Web Services team.

  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education. Master's degree preferred. (All Director-level staff and above hired without a Master's degree are encouraged to begin their degree path as soon as possible at Regis upon attainment of employee tuition benefit eligibility.)

Experience:

Required:

  • At least three years of experience managing a large, multi-faceted website in a similar role in higher education, nonprofit, and/or with a brand marketing agency.

  • At least three years of direct SEO management tool such as SEM Ruch experience, including strong familiarity with SEO practices and trends and SEO copywriting.

  • Familiarity with front-end development programming languages, including, but not limited to, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX, and third-party JavaScript libraries such as JQuery.

  • Familiarity with and knowledge of information design and architecture, user-centric design, multiple browser requirements and capabilities, and web design and development constraints and parameters.

  • Experience with managing new and historical data in Google Analytics and creating user-friendly reports for stakeholders using LookerStudio.

  • Strong knowledge of code development tools.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with website redesign and content migration.

  • Prior experience and/or familiarity with university admissions recruitment practices and digital marketing practices.

  • Experience managing CMS platforms such as Hannon Hill Cascade.

  • Knowledge and experience in managing a cloud-based web server (Windows-based).

  • Experience managing web design projects from concept sketches to wireframes to development, including coding design concepts and prototypes using front-end programming languages.

  • Prior professional work experience in a higher education setting

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work will require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Some local, regional, and/or national travel may be required.
