Reports to: SVP, Growth and Operations

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the product designers, provide direction, and set best practices

  • Design and build highly polished, end-to-end experiences of the products

  • Create elegant, innovative, and emotionally satisfying product experiences

  • Partners with optimization to challenge assumptions and to consistently improve experiences

  • Design, refine, and expand the product design, design systems, and architecture for the products

  • Create expressive visualizations designed for communicating abstract concepts

  • Create a wide scope in conception, rapidly translate and test concepts with interactive prototypes, and synthesize findings into actionable next steps

  • Gather and synthesize user research to share with the team

  • Lead through mentorship, career development, and recruitment to build a world-class design studio

  • Coach and mentor team members, as well as individuals from other disciplines as the need arises, building strong relationships across the company over time

  • Collaborate with design, product, engineering, experts to build a robust library of engaging content

  • Collaborate with Head of Product on vision, and partner with the teams to make it reality

  • Work in an agile environment using data and analytics to inform user-centered design decisions and rapid iterative improvement

  • Collaborate closely with business, engineering, and QA leadership to define and communicate a strategic vision and high-level objectives

Qualifications

  • An inspired portfolio of work that demonstrates a deep understanding of the problem, paired with elegant, innovative, and thoughtful solutions

  • An equally strong UX and visual design foundation with an understanding of how to apply it into satisfying interactive experiences

  • Strong user research skills, including the experience to know which methods are most appropriate for answering the questions at hand

  • The ability to identify user problems and articulate how your solutions are addressing those core problems

  • A working understanding of how to apply movement, timing, and sound to create emotional resonance

  • Strong collaborative and communication skills to work with a close-knit team

  • An understanding of designing to achieve business objectives

  • Experience interacting with a collaborative team and working directly with developers to implement designs

We are seeking someone with data analytics and statistical analysis expertise who enjoys working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. This role involves quantitative research and will be responsible for conceiving and conducting user research, interviews, and surveys as well as ad-hoc testing. The ideal candidate will have a highly developed sense of user-centered design, attentiveness to detail, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate decision-making ability. Clearly articulating research findings to designers, product owners and developers is a must. Travel is required. </p><p><strong>Type: </strong>Long-term contract, full-time,on-site<br></p><p><strong>Location: </strong>San Diego</p><p><strong>Pay Rate: </strong>DOE</p><p><strong>Benefits: </strong>Medical, dental, vision, life, 401k, PTO, sick leave</p><p><strong>In this role, you will:</strong></p><ul> <li>Develop and implement usability test plans.</li> <li>Analyze and synthesize design research and user testing data to provide direction.</li> <li>Advise team members regarding product and interaction design based on results.</li> <li>Conduct task analyses, task/work flow evaluations, heuristic reviews, and various other usability evaluations as needed.</li> <li>Influence interaction and/or product design, write reports, and deliver presentations as needed.</li> <li>Work quickly and collaboratively to provide UX analysis in a fast-paced agile development process.</li> <li>Actively participate in development meetings in order to understand architectural needs and capabilities.</li> <li>Be an advocate for the end user, bringing their goals and perspectives into the decision making process.</li> <li>Drive new concepts with design thinking, research, and market trends.</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li> MS/MA degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Experimental/Cognitive/Applied Psychology or related area of study preferred. BA/BS degree considered with significant work experience.</li> <li>UX portfolio to showcase your thought process and research experience with discrete examples of improvements implemented with measurable business outcomes.</li> <li>Able to work on projects alone, as well as collaborate effectively with other team members, to advance project goals</li> <li>Able to plan data-driven design experiments and conduct tests to discover the right user experience, iteratively</li> <li>Able to multitask across multiple projects in a cross-functional environment</li> <li>Identify and mitigate UX risks on projects</li> <li>Strong analytic, synthesis and communication skills when dealing with qualitative and quantitative information and data</li> <li>Strong presentation skills</li> <li>Strong knowledge of applied research methods, and UI/UX design principles and best practices</li> <li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in applied user experience research, including analysis and reporting of qualitative and quantitative data and applied statistics for web, native mobile and desktop applications</li> <li>Technical understanding of software structures and mobile applications preferred</li> <li>Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite, Axure, Sketch, or other design and wireframing tools a plus</li> <li>Ability to travel 1 week per quarter</li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>Paradigm offers medical, dental, vision, life, 401K, and PTO.</p><p><strong>About Us, Paradigm</strong></p><p>Want to love Mondays?
