Director of User Acquisition

San Francisco, CA | Growth Marketing | Reports to the Sr. Director of Growth

About the Role

  • Oversee all new customer efforts at Rothy's including digital channels Facebook, Pinterest, Google, Snap, Affiliates, Display and offline channels like TV/OTT & Podcast

  • Manage an eight figure budget and a team that is ready for build out

  • Drive the acquisition roadmap including creative development, audience testing, budget management and landing-page strategy

  • Accurately forecast spend, order volume, and new customers across efforts, accounting for seasonality, an increasingly diversified product mix, and channel overlap

  • Drive CPA/LTV analysis + optimization across marketing efforts, report on these metrics

  • Identify and validate new channels and partners

  • Manage channel overlap and ensure the next dollar is spent most efficiently leveraging Rothy's MTA solution

  • Build processes to uncover pockets of efficiency via elements like audience testing, DMA experimentation, and systematic incrementality testing across channels

  • Liaise with platform partners + continue relationship building with our account teams

  • Shepherd the creative feedback loop and guide the design team on direction of ads across formats, optimization objectives, and parts of the funnel

  • Work cross-functionally with the Design, Site, and Retention teams to tie together user journey mapping and storytelling across all customer touch points

  • Partner with analytics to keep Rothy's on the cutting edge of trackability & measurement

  • Stay on top of industry trends and implement best practices

  • Drive, develop, and implement analysis and action plan around other growth team analytical priorities: cross device measurement, category build out, international expansion, etc.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, psychology, or related area

  • 8+ years of online user acquisition experience in a consumer-focused company with a heavy focus on paid social

  • Deep understanding of the full marketing funnel, attribution, how various channels interplay with one another, and ultimately drive ROI

  • Experience managing and scaling a team

  • Exceptional analytical skills; expert in Excel, Google Analytics, BI tools (Looker), with a keen ability to articulate results and learning

  • Track record of outstanding marketing campaign results and experience allocating large monthly budgets

  • Understanding of marketing ROI and how to calculate user profitability based on CPC, CPM investment

  • Thorough knowledge of tracking links, pixels, and marketing attribution

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently with quick turnarounds

  • Experience building and managing a team

  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal

  • Curious, hungry, proactive, results-oriented, insanely detail-oriented and data-driven, and thrives in fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Jam City is on the hunt for the best and brightest User Acquisition Specialist in Los Angeles to work on our next generation of top-10 cross-platform games. We're looking for a talented User Acquisition Specialist with a passion for marketing, user acquisition and games. This role will support the marketing team's efforts on player acquisition campaigns, coordinate with marketing designers to come up with the next eye catching creative, and manage budgets and marketing strategy. RESPONSIBILITIES * A team player willing to take direction but also exhibit initiative when working independently. * A fast learner, as you will continually be optimizing efforts based on data-driven metrics and ever-developing tech. * Develop an acquisition marketing strategy for Jam City game franchises * Manage and optimize a large, multi-million-dollar acquisition marketing budget * Own and present key performance metrics including ROAS and internal KPI targets to senior leadership. * Monitor, measure and report on campaign performance, budgeting, and conduct ad hoc analysis to refine strategies. * Work closely with UA managers and other teams to execute coordinated strategic campaigns. * Motivated to identify missing opportunities and take them on as your own. * Aptitude to work outside of your comfort zone and get things done quickly. * Passion/knowledge for games. QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's Degree. Preferably one in a quantitative discipline. * 1+ year experience in business or partnership development or digital marketing. * Strong entry-level or internship experience. * Proficient in excel and powerpoint. * Ability to troubleshoot data issues. * Ridiculously awesome work ethic. * Ability to initiate, develop and maintain partnerships with other mobile and online companies. * Knowledge of mobile advertising campaign setup, optimization, and accounts management. * Experience with media buying on social channels (Facebook, Google, Apple, etc) is a plus. * Ability to vet potential partners as first point of contact for Jam City. * Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong writing and editing skills.
