Director of US K12 Product Strategy
Open Assessment Technologies (OAT) is the home of TAO, the worlds leading Open Source Assessment Platform. They are seeking a Director of US K12 Product Strategy to lead the development of their US K12 product portfolio.
The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping OATs US K12 product strategy and the next generation of TAO. This position requires the ability to create simplicity in user experiences built on top of functional depth that results from complex integrations of leading-edge technologies.
Job Description/ Major Responsibilities
Develop and advance US K12 product roadmap, manage feature prioritization, determine pricing models, revenue forecasts, and track key financial metrics
Engage with customers, partners, and OAT client services teams to identify trends, long-term market opportunities, and product requirements with the goal of increasing customer adoption and maximizing market share
Discuss needs and preferences with current customers, prospects, and sales team to feed future product development
Work with OATs leadership team to ensure that the product road map is aligned with the companys overall business and product strategy
Maintain up-to-date profiles of competitive services in US K12 assessment and digital learning markets
Work with our Architecture, Accessibility, and UX team to define product usability principles across the K12 product portfolio, track user experience, and review user interface wireframes
As product owner, work with OATs agile engineering teams to drive product development in line with our K12 product strategy and roadmap
Educate and train OAT K12 Sales Team on key selling points, including competitive landscape and product positioning
Work with Operations and Technical Support teams to prepare commercial rollout of new product releases and features
Guide OATs Marketing Team in the creation of sales and marketing tools, and web content to promote the US K12 product and solutions portfolio
Requirements
3+ years of experience in US K12 technology product management
Ability to think big picture to create and maintain the product strategy; as well as execute on a very detailed, tactical level to create associated product requirements and project plans
Familiarity with Agile framework and Product Owner role
Organizational and leadership abilities with excellent communication skills
Problem-solving and creative thinking skills
BS/BA or Masters degree

This person must convince Optum leaders and operators of his / her value, earn their trust and time, and work collaboratively to build actionable strategies. The Senior Director, Corporate Strategy and Business Acceleration will work with executive and product leadership to frame the market, identify market opportunities, build analytics-based strategic plans, develop wide-ranging partnership processes and drive actionable decisions. In order to do this, the Senior Director, Corporate Strategy and Business Acceleration will have a strong understanding of market and competitive dynamics, customer needs, regulatory impacts, market trajectory, and Optum capabilities. In addition, the Senior Director, Corporate Strategy and Business Acceleration will "tell the story" throughout the organization to gain support and fuel execution planning. The Senior Director will also lead external discussions, lead analysis, make connections across the Optum and UHG and support broader corporate development activity. Primary Responsibilities: * Build deep advisory relationships with Optum's senior most leaders * Lead and support cross-Optum initiatives spanning growth strategy and operational excellence by directly scoping, executing, controlling and closing strategy projects * Lead large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives by working across Optum units and UnitedHealth Group as needed * Deliver data-driven insights to support actionable strategic direction, corporate prioritization, and strategy communication (Executive management, Board, investors, company) * Analyze industry trends, customer needs, competitive threats, expansion opportunities and internal performance * Lead in a team environment within the strategy team and with business partners / customers * Influence Senior Leadership at Optum and UHG to adopt new ideas, products and / or approaches and gain commitment on cross-company initiatives * Nurture and develop strong relationships with Optum corporate and business unit leaders * Support the corporate planning process and ad hoc projects for executives, corporate requests, and special events * Promote professional development of strategy team members; enhance their skills and capabilities through project work and one-to-one coaching * Lead strategy team development initiatives Required Qualifications: * MBA * 5 years of post-MBA experience * Demonstrable leadership skills in a team setting where team members are not direct reports * Directly managed people in delivering consulting / advisory services at the corporate level * Superior conceptual, analytical and financial modeling skills * Demonstrable ability to communicate data and strategic frameworks for executives * Experience understanding competitive positioning / customer needs and analyzing trends * Demonstrable ability to deliver results with large-scale, cross-functional teams * Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects to ensure their quality and on-time delivery * Superior communication (written / verbal), presentation, and facilitation skills * High energy, detail oriented and creative individual * Ability to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced environment Careers with Optum.
