Job Description:
Position Summary: Responsible for the oversight of the Student Support Services (SSS) TRIO Program. Work to ensure that student enrollment goals and student success benchmarks are met. Manages project budget, personnel, student programming and is responsible for program reports required by the College and U.S. Department of Education.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the process of recruitment, identification and selection of student participants in accordance with Federal program guidelines
Supervise professional staff, interns and student workers to support student centered approach of services
Work closely with faculty and Academic Affairs to implement initiatives; act as a liaison across campus and with state/federal partners
Develop and implement appropriate programming and support services for students to promote retention and graduation
Meet federal grant compliance regulations; including submission of Annual Performance Report and other reports needed
Manage project budget and oversee federal funds allocated appropriately
Develop and implement all activities and services in support of SSS project objectives
Lead key activities such as informing the College of TRIO goals, eligibility requirements of SSS; orientation, transfer workshops, college visits, financial aid and topical workshops
Monitor the progress in meeting the program's retention, graduation and transfer goals. Develop and lead cultural activities to engage students
Communicate with college committees and campus processes to support learning environments and campus climate for students of disadvantaged backgrounds
Keep up to date on U.S. Department of Education regulations and financial aid supports.
Use lived experiences to support the identities and goals of our student population
Requirements:
A master's degree, or bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of progressive experience in student retention, advising, or other student service work in an educational setting
Proven success in recruitment, retention and a student supportive role
Proficiency in grant management and maintaining federal guidelines
Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population in an open-enrollment environment
Significant experience with management of staff, budgets, and federal programs, and developing and implementing student support services
Previous experience working with low-income, academically disadvantaged, or disabled students preferred
Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable interactions and leadership practices
Experience in designing and implementing strategies that support the diverse needs of our students
Commitment to building relationships across campus with Faculty, staff and various stakeholders
Strong management, organizational, and interpersonal skills to support a team environment
Ability to analyze and report out on data for the program
Strong interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills
Understanding of and commitment to the community college mission

Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 per year, full-time, benefited
