The Department of Academic Affairs of Thiel College, Greenville, PA, is seeking a Director of the Langenheim Memorial Library. We seek a strong leader for this full-time staff position, committed to the values of a liberal arts education and Thiel College's Mission to prepare students for careers and lives of meaning and purpose.

This position presents an excellent opportunity for a librarian who wants to transition to a hands-on administrative role. The library has a history of working collegially with faculty and staff and providing dedicated support to students. The college is looking for a dynamic library director to revitalize the library's collections, services, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Implementing a forward-looking vision for the library as one of the foundations of student success at the college

• Managing the budget to grow collections while exhibiting fiscal responsibility

• Evaluating current library services and implementing new strategies where appropriate

• Continuing to forge strong relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the surrounding community

• Supervising a staff of one full-time employee, one part-time employee, ten student workers, and one volunteer alumnus

• Overseeing a planned renovation project to include a space for the college archives

• Serving on campus committees and acting as the library's liaison to Admissions, Senior Administration, and the Board of Trustees

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library program

• At least five years' experience working in a library

• Demonstrable record of effective communication and collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an academic library

• Management or supervisory experience

• Knowledge of best practices for archives

• Experience with grant writing
