Exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager or Director to join an innovative technology company in this newly created role.
We are looking for a well rounded leader who can play a critical role in our transformation from an operations & services company into a software product company, as well as digitalization and the migration to the cloud. Initially you will be focused on working with the Vice President of this organization in defining our data strategy, leading data governance, and managing the delivery of data services for our entire organization. We are growing rapidly and will need you to step into other strategic projects.
Initial duties include assisting with defining data strategy and agenda, developing an inventory of present data assets, reviewing existing master data strategy and lead implementation, collaborating with your Vice President on strategic initiatives, developing data policies and standards, creating controls and governance framework to manage data across the enterprise, evaluating data storage vendors and cloud providers, developing strategy for consistent and integrated data warehousing, and creating a data architecture roadmap.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
5+ years of management experience
3+ years of people management experience
Transformation experience
Data & Analytics experience
Governance experience
Very strong experience developing and implementing strategy and strategic plans
Very strong technical background and understanding of technology so you can contribute to discussions on technical solutions and approaches
Must have experience in one of three categories below:
1). Healthcare Technology Company

  • A company that builds technology products for healthcare

  • Either in a data management, governance leader role, or technology / product leadership role where data was a critical focus
    OR
    2). Information Company

  • Experience in a company where information is the product

  • Good depth in data

  • Experience in one of the following roles: technology or product leadership role where data was a critical focus, or data acquisition leader or data management / governance leader
    OR
    3). FinTech Company

  • A company that builds technology products for external clients

  • Either in a data management / governance leader role or technology / product leadership role where data was a critical focus
    Strategic thinker
    Experience managing through major change (acquisition, merger, etc.)
    Well rounded background in a variety of software / applications related projects
    Cloud and on-prem platform experience
    Strong collaboration skills

VIEW JOBS 11/11/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-09T00:00 Job Description: Role Summary/Purpose: The AVP Technology Project Manager – Credit Card Processing/Client Interfacing position is an individual contributor role working in the Synchrony Technology organization. The Technology Project Manager will be responsible for driving Technology solutions to meet client growth, productivity and compliance objectives for our retail partners. Essential Responsibilities: * Provide Technology support, client relationship, project management, vendor management, and functional expertise for retail partners * Work with client teams to define business requirements for new projects and provide input on how to address systematically. * Function independently in a Project Management capacity and address issues proactively to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. * Manage projects and Technology resources through the following Technology project phases: Estimation, Funding, Scheduling, Requirements, Design, Construction, Testing and Release. * Experience and Knowledge of Mobile and Web technology and development approaches * Experience implementing consumer facing Digital Channels * Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies * Plan and communicate the project status, milestones and critical issues with key stakeholders (business, client, Technology). * Responsible for financials and controllership for assigned projects. * Support resolution for recent releases and provide production support for assigned client(s). * Gain knowledge of the retailer's technical environment and processes, coordinate changes between the retailer and Synchrony Technology teams. * Ensures process rigor and adherence to project methodology standards, including ensuring all required project and client documentation is updated accordingly. * Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned Qualifications/Requirements: * Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Technology experience OR 2) in lieu of degree High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of Project Management experience in Technology environment * Minimum 4 years Project Management experience including working on gathering business requirements, planning and defining enhancements, and managing projects through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) * Credit card processing experience Desired Characteristics: * Experience managing Technology relationships with external clients * Experience in a Retail Bank or Financial Services * Experience working as a liaison across various business functions on Technology projects * Possesses analytical and negotiation skills * Superior oral, written, and client communication skills, as well as the ability to manage expectations of the business, clients, team members, management and external groups * Strong business acumen including a broad understanding of Synchrony Financial business processes and practices * Demonstrated ability to drive change and work effectively across business boundaries * Technical depth – ability to understand technical requirements of projects and effectively manage resources, vendors and clients * Demonstrated effectiveness in driving change * Demonstrated competency with linking business strategy with IT technology initiatives * Strong customer focus and ability to manage customer expectations Eligibility Requirements: * You must be 18 years or older * You must have a high school diploma or equivalent * You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the selection process * You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. * Effective 1-1-18, new hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post.
