Director of Technical Centers
Full-time, benefits eligible, non-classified exempt 1-year temporary position.
Salary: $50,000-$55,000/year.
Summary: This position is responsible for the partnership, oversight, and development of programs offered in collaboration with our local technology centers, including, but not limited to: Collins Career Technology Center, Mason County Technology Center, and Cabell County Technology . The incumbent is expected to further develop certificate and degree pathways with the tech centers and enhance existing relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work on-site at the tech centers, and on campus, each week on a rotating basis.
Develop certificates and degree programs at the tech centers
Assist in scheduling of courses and
As needed, ensure MOUs between Mountwest and the tech centers are updated.
Meet with administration and students of the tech center to promote Mountwest partnered programs and facilitate enrollment to Mountwest Community & Technical College.
Serve as a liaison between Mountwest and the Tech Centers
Ensure students are admitted, advised, registered, and graduate with Mountwest credentials.
Coordinate, in collaboration with HR, the hiring of instructors as Mountwest instructors when appropriate, including the creation of PARs.
Review college, state, and national college credit recommendations, to determine if industry training or certifications warrant the awarding of college credit. If training is not recommended for college credit, and if necessary, explain to individuals why the training is not to be awarded college credit.
Monitor enrollment, matriculation, and more in the partnered programs.
Provide regular reports to President's Council regarding development of partnerships.
Collaborate with Marketing to promote and attract students to the partnered programs.
Recruit new students.
Support student success.
May oversee lower-level staff as partnerships grow.
On a limited basis, work weekends and evenings as required to maintain presence at the Tech Centers.
Collaborate and communicate proactively to ensure great relationships on campus and at the tech
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Degree from a regionally accredited institution and a valid driver's license is required.
The ability to work evenings and weekends is required.
The successful candidate must have strong organizational skills, technology skills, and the ability to clearly communicate with people of diverse backgrounds.
The candidate should have experience in forming partnerships, and experience with OR the ability to learn about the tech center and Mountwest offerings, educational pathway, and Department of Education regulations regarding partnerships.
Prior experience in admissions, student records, and/or curriculum management is a plus.
Must work at multiple locations and have reliable transportation.
