As a member of the executive team and reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Talent Management & Development will provide overall direction for the Human Resources function including the ongoing support to enable the HR organization to fully function as strategic business partners; building a solid rapport with the senior executive team and other key leaders throughout the organization; and leading the development and implementation of people strategies that enable the firm to successfully achieve the firms Vision.

Key Performance Measures:

  • Continuous improvement in employee retention rates.

  • Maximize participation in performance management and development programs.

  • Improvement of internal promotion rates.

Key Essential Functions:

  • Build and lead high performing teams through recruiting, developing and retaining top talent.

  • Formulate and direct best practices to provide effective and consistent human resource management throughout the system.

  • Champion leadership development programs and succession programs that ensure talented bench strength across the organization.

  • Support the development of system-wide retention strategies as well as recruitment strategies to address talent gaps in the current organization or in succession slates.

  • Ensure that diversity initiatives are developed and integrated into all people strategies

  • Ensure that performance management practices are consistently administered across the organization.

  • Oversee recognition programs such as years of service, promotions and appointments.

  • Ensure employee policies and practices, such as the employee handbook, are administered consistently and fairly across the firm.

  • Oversee the ongoing modifications to the benefits practices to assure that all employee benefits are competitive, efficiently designed and administered, and cost-effective

  • Champion an environment of continuous learning and development for all employees through a variety of programs and practices.

  • Champion employee relations strategies designed to create an environment that encourages maximum individual and team effectiveness and engagement.

  • Provide leadership coaching and consulting to leaders on complex employee relations issues.

  • Oversee activity of third-party service providers such as immigration attorney, external recruiters, benefits broker, and training and development consultants.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Human Resources or MBA preferred.

  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.

  • Strong experience and skills in managing talent to ensure that the organization is positioned for growth and excellence

  • An ability to influence senior executives, establish and maintain partnerships, and provide thought leadership.

  • Preference for applicants from the AEC industry and/or allied service industries.
