Want to join a talented, creative group of professionals? First Western is hiring an experienced and tenacious talent acquisition leader to lead the talent acquisition function for First Western, all from our gorgeous downtown Denver headquarters just steps from Union Station.

This position is a highly visible, key role within our organization. The Director of Talent Acquisition ("TA") must forge strong partnerships with key stakeholders at various levels throughout the organization - from fellow associates to managers and directors to the C-suite. The role in partnership with the Chief Human Capital Officer would formulate a vision and strategy in all areas related to talent attraction, branding, value proposition, competitive awareness, compensation benchmarking, interview and selection training, and university relations and attraction. The Director would oversee the recruiting budget to negotiate and finalize contracts with TA related vendors such as LinkedIn and ATS providers as well as any staffing firms. This position would supervise and be a close mentor and coach to the Talent Acquisition Specialist to achieve recruiting goals. Lastly, the Director of TA would be a hands-on talent professional where he/she would be responsible for taking on high-level and complex requisitions and helping in any recruiting areas of need.

Highlighted Responsibilities:

  • Formulate or revise a Talent Acquisition vision and strategy in partnership with business leaders and Chief Human Capital Officer

  • Full-cycle recruitment of Director level and Executive roles while supporting in other areas of recruiting based on need, or other positions as needed

  • Create and update compensation bench marking, affiliated job families, salary ranges, and compensation program recommendations for the Company

  • Create and measure/analyze the talent acquisition process to increase efficiency while improving quality of hire

  • Revise, update and continually manage the current new hire and hiring manager survey to increase feedback on recruiting efforts while measuring satisfaction levels regarding recruiting

  • Revise and deliver interview and selection training company-wide for consistency in process as well as to measure for improvement and effectiveness is the selection of talent

  • Oversee a recruiting budget to negotiate and finalize contracts with TA related vendors such as LinkedIn and ATS providers as well as any staffing firms

  • Establish effective partnerships with universities, networking forums and industry related associations

  • Be a key partner and expert in the implementation of a new HRCM system with an emphasis on the ATS side of the implementation

  • Evaluate performance and be a mentor and coach to the Talent Acquisition Specialist to drive and deliver recruiting results

  • Be an influencer in the banking community and universities to help attract and build a pipeline of banking professionals and interns

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 10+ years in full-cycle recruiting with strong knowledge brand formulation, community visibility, and creating a best-in-class recruiting function

  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate and formulate a recruiting strategy based on metrics

  • 5 + years of direct supervisory experience of talent acquisition function

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications; Greenhouse and ADP experience preferred

  • Must have a high degree of flexibility and accountability, excellent written and verbal communication & negotiation skills; ability to think critically & strategically about challenges that affect all aspects of the organization

Preferred requirement:

  • Banking industry recruiting strongly preferred

  • HR related certification preferred

  • Experience in other HR functional areas such as compensation, benefits, on-boarding, performance, and training preferred
