Position Summary
The Director manages daily operations of the Office of Records and Registration, assists in developing and administering policies and procedures, and ensures accurate and timely dissemination of information and materials for degree requirements, course registration, exams, grades, graduation, and bar exam information to students. Oversees computer applications that organize, store, and analyze data, and leverages technology to ensure operational efficiency, improve business processes, and streamline workflows.
Assesses needs and options, and makes recommendations to optimize utilization of systems and resources to support area functions. Partners closely with Law IT and NYU IT to ensure data feeds and processes are maintained and managed. Acts as administrative liaison with other school and University Offices.
Interprets and applies University policies to plan and manage course registration process. Manages and operates Law's in-house registration system. Advises students, such as JD, LLM, MSL, and JSD students regarding registration and University policies, as well as veterans, with specific needs/benefits and manages related processes and documentation.
The incumbent should have excellent analytical, and technical skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills. Should also possess detail orientation skills, be highly self-motivated and directed, and bring enthusiasm and energy to help build and maintain a collaborative team environment that supports the registration and records needs of the student body.
Qualifications
Required Education:Bachelor's DegreeRequired Experience:
5+ years' of related experience
Preferred Experience:Experience as a developer, database/SQL programmer, data modeler, or other data architecture/design related role.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Must be able to identify problems with the current business environment and develop business process improvements with practical implementation strategies that leverage both technical and registrar office acumen.
Strong knowledge of data structures and ability to efficiently manipulate/query data.
Ability to think big picture and dive deep into details; Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills, clear/concise interpersonal and written communications skills with keen attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills for working with colleagues as well as interfacing with students.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge and skill in such areas as management and systems analysis and programming; Proficiency in Oracle/PeopleSoft - Campus Solutions.
