Director Of Systems Integration

The Director of Systems Integration will own the definition and integration of modular solutions to build a scalable OTTAVA robotic surgical business impacting millions of patients and expanding the capabilities of physicians globally.

J&J Robotics was established in 2020 with the integration of Auris Health, Verb Surgical, C-SATS, and Ethicon. It comprises three key med-tech platforms: Flexible Robotics (MONARCH), Surgical Robotics (OTTAVA) and Digital Solutions. This director will be a key technical and strategic leader on one of the most exciting programs and J&J and in healthcare in general! The candidate must bring a strong blend of technical ability and people leadership to bear on this critical role. They must also balance depth in robotics with a passionate focus on understanding and meeting the needs of clinicians and operating room staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of 40+ engineers and managers in the integration of complex robotic hardware and software across all capital subsystems and the full system level

• Establish team initiatives to achieve program goals and improve functional excellence in mechatronic design and prototyping, hardware/software integration, incorporating clinical feedback into design, characterization and test design, and system bring-up and stabilization

• Champion teamwork between the OTTAVA Hardware, Software, Clinical, and Systems Engineering teams

• Mentor and coach senior managers, managers, and individual contributors

• Maintain functional alignment within OTTAVA R&D leadership

• Provide strategic integration mentorship to OTTAVA Senior Leadership
