Job Title: Director of Support Services
The San Miguel School Chicago Director of Support Services oversees programming for middle school students, graduates, and families. The Director of Support Services is a member of the Leadership Team and works with a variety of teams to accomplish the goals of San Miguel Chicago.

Accountability
The Director of Support Services is hired by the Executive Director of San Miguel School and reports to him/her. The Director is expected to uphold the Lasallian educational model in all program areas of his/her responsibility. The Director will be held accountable for meeting the counseling needs of San Miguel students, budget and management of daily operations of the community center, and the success of the Graduate Support and College Readiness program.

General Responsibilities:

Middle School Counselor and Counseling Program:
counsel students, graduates, and families
coordinate professional development for staff in areas concerning social/emotional well-being of students
direct and coordinate the services of contracted personnel, oversees caseloads and diagnostic testing services
facilitate and conduct meetings of counselors, teachers, and parents for students needing intervention planning

Community Center Programs:
develop a policy and procedure handbook for the community center and its programs
develop and implement after-school art, music, drama, and athletic programs for San Miguel students and community youth
manage the community center budget and grow a solid source of revenue through the center programs.
recruit, orient, and mentor volunteers and institutional partners

Graduate Support for High School Persistence and College Readiness:
supervise the Graduate Support and College Readiness Coordinator
provide professional development opportunities for the Graduate Support and College Readiness Coordinator

Family Support:
work with the Coordinator of Family Support in organizing and facilitating Community Center activities
provide psycho-educational workshops and classes to San Miguel families
work with the Coordinator of Family Support to ensure families are receiving needed services
supervise the Coordinator of Family Support

Other duties assigned by Executive Director

Requirements:

Masters (preferred) or Bachelors degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field.
3-5 years of experience in school counseling, clinical social work, or related field; supervision experience and/or team management experienced preferred.

Oral Spanish fluency required.

Excellent communication, literacy and technology skills.

Openness to working in a faith-based environment with a high level of mission commitment.

Salary:

$40,000-$48,000 based on credentials and experience.
