The Director of Supply Chain Product Development will lead the development and deployment of fit-for-purpose software-based solutions aligned to our strategic plans and technology road maps. This leader will work closely with Customer Engagement, Architecture and Planning, and Infrastructure and Operations teams. He or she will facilitate the design and development of products that address business needs and ensure that effective and efficient methods are utilized for product development across the department, which are aligned with best practices employed across our organization. This Director will lead and have responsibility for all Supply Chain software development teams.

A successful candidate will be able to leverage a range of techniques in communicating complex ideas to diverse stakeholders, demonstrate a forward-looking perspective, and drive both strategic and tactical decision making. This individual will practice active listening and will demonstrate understanding and empathy with others' ideas and perspectives.   • Oversees management of development teams, providing direction, motivation, technical support and guidance

  • Drives technology discussions and decisions for products

  • Oversees software architecture and design sessions to define required analysis and artifacts

  • Guides application and design of product architectures

  • Ensures value-based decision making and Lean principles across teams

  • Guides discussion on existing system structure, constraints and deficiencies with product to development, customer engagement, architecture and operations teams

  • Leads development of software products including coding discrete solutions at user interface, service, or database layers

  • Regulates unit testing of products and reviews technical product and implementation guides

  • Takes a product-centric view in directing product architecture documentation, its implementation, and troubleshooting guides

  • Ensures best practices, principles and guidelines for team are used in creating a shared vision for software development

  • Directs code reviews and product documentation

  • Oversees staffing needs and oversees interview and hiring process for dedicated resources

  • Provides motivation, direction and guidance to drive results across multiple systems and teams

  • Manages performance of individuals and takes action as needed

  • Supervises multiple cross-functional teams and oversees capacity plans and gaps

  • Oversees the deployment, change, configuration, management, administration and maintenance of deployment process and systems


Bachelor's Degree required

12-20 years of relevant working experience, preferably in the Healthcare IT industry. In addition, experience working in group purchasing and with supply chains is preferred. Key desired experience includes the following:

  • Development and execution of IT strategy

  • Leadership in product development, including waterfall and agile methodologies and processes

  • Proficient with product development processes and technical documentation

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective conflict resolution skills

  • Experience interfacing with multiple stakeholders with competing demands

  • Experience operating in an entrepreneurial environment

Responsibilities: * Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and staffing levels. Provides leadership, orientation, training, and mentoring.
