Position Description:

Manage and develop supply chain relationships, negotiate contracts, and plan country delivery strategies. Oversee companywide supply chain operations, processes, and maintain relationship with domestic and international partners to confirm proper manufacturing and distribution of goods. Deliver high quality and value through leadership in category management, sourcing, supplier management and resource development.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

Oversee manufacturer contract negotiations, relationships, and partner development.

Oversee and develop strategic purchasing of 3PL service providers for transportation and warehouse in collaboration with 3PL stakeholders.

Manage complexities of global supply chain structures and schedules. Conduct inventory and warehousing problem solving through teamwork, explain and present complex problems in understandable way, and define root causes to structure resolutions into manageable action items.

Collaborate with internal demand planning team and service providers to maximize inventory turn. Coordinate inbound and outbound inventory flows to minimize delivery timelines and reduce stock.

Manage and drive continuous improvements for warehousing and distribution processes of international and domestic shipments, operations, costs, performance, contacts, and logistics service provider engagements.

Drive commercial relationships with 3PL category suppliers, achieve lowest total cost of ownership and performance benchmarks aligned with business goals.

Design 3PL carriers sourcing strategies, lead cross-functional strategic sourcing teams, negotiate with suppliers, and execute sustainable contracts to optimize end-to-end benefits, and on behalf of customers.

Engage in relationship management activities with category suppliers to drive improvements in performance, add value to operations networks, and support strategic sourcing for negotiating contracts, prices, and delivery timelines.

Core member of Commercial Development and Procurement teams to lead development and roll-out of best practices for commercial excellence.

Develop and upgrade contract templates aligned with internal stakeholder activities (e.g., requirements for new services, terms with finance, tax, legal); define pre-approved standard clauses to maximize contract value and fulfilment of customer needs.

Develop strategic initiatives that establish new and innovative services, drive performance, speed improvements, and secure capacity for growth.

Assess supply base against business needs for current and future supply chain requirements.

Foster long-term strategic partnerships with high performing carriers, establish carrier evaluations and classifications, and communicate carrier performance management process and expectations.

Conduct strategic analysis 3PL Services to assess, identify, and implement significant bottom-line cost savings.

Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiencies of materials flow in support of Days of Inventory on Hand (DOH) and supply goals, aligned with lead time and inventory accuracy.

Conduct individual and team training sessions related to inventory management, including consignment and owned inventory.

Conduct daily review of forecast and inventory availability in collaboration with Procurement team, Warehousing & Transportation Manager and 3PL service providers to plan (back) orders to provide for client demand.

Maintain and review requirements related to manufacturing, warehousing and distribution in close cooperation with internal stakeholders.

Achieve and drive cost, performance and quality continuous improvements within warehousing and distribution, applying PDCA and 8D, based on analysis of business characteristics.

  • Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree (Master's Degree or MBA) from accredited degree program in Applied Logistics, or related field with minimum of 15 years of experience in supply chain operations, procurement management, or logistics and minimum of 5 years of experience in materials and/or warehouse operations or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Management and leadership experience, minimum of 5 years in management position managing departments or regions

Advanced knowledge of inventory and supply chain management, and warehousing processes, 7PL

Extensive experience with procurement and commercial strategies and implementations

Experience with business development, partner development, procurement, sales, and marketing related to Supply Chain Management (SCM) Services

Knowledge of business financials, with ability to develop should-cost models, Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheets (non-finance expert understanding)

High level of numeracy, analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to quickly understand root cause and identify scalable solutions

Experience utilizing data analytics to drive strategic planning initiatives

Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple competing priorities and achieve project milestones for on-time completion

Ability to prioritize, resolve, and drive closure to open business issues

Process and critical thinking skills with sound judgement for decision-making and problem solving

Able to develop pragmatic approaches and solutions to drive simplification and continuous improvements

Excellent negotiation skills, interpersonal influencing, and communication skills

Executive level presentation and delivery skills

Experience managing cross functional relationships and external teams

Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office suite of applications, analytical applications (e.g., Python Analytics software), and purchasing software (e.g., SAP/Ariba)

Ability to develop comprehensive knowledge and understanding of contract documents

Ability to interpret general contract and subcontract documents, drawings and specifications

Interpersonal and team building skills with ability to work across organizational levels, both internal and external
