Job Summary:

The Director of Studio 200 reports to the Dean of Student Engagement, is a member of the Student Engagement leadership team, and has the responsibility for oversight of all aspects of the learning studio and its programing . The program includes academic counseling to at-risk students according to faculty or self-referral, guided labs across campus for student success and classroom support, writing labs across campus for student support in building writing skills, support for literacy areas, study skill development, and providing tutors for students. This position supervises the Transition Specialist, and Academic Support Staff and oversees the Graduate Assistants who work in Studio 200. The Director of Studio 200 administers academic support services, provides support to at-risk students, and works closely with the administration and faculty to identify and provide learning supports necessary for the academic success of all students. The Director of Studio 200 will evaluate, plan, and create remediation and foundational curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee academic support services for at-risk students, including counseling, writing labs, and study skill development.

  • Manage a team of support staff, including hiring, training, and supervision.

  • Collaborate with faculty and administration to design academic interventions and support initiatives aligned with college policies.

  • Assist with student recruitment and retention efforts, including participating in admissions activities and retention initiatives.

  • Provide oversight of Studio 200 programs, including tutoring services, disability services, orientation, and student engagement activities, while also participating in college committees and divisional management.

Education & Experience:

  • Master's degree in student engagement/affairs, higher education administration, counseling, or related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mentoring, teaching, developing student success programs, and assessing student and institutional outcomes with a record of effective leadership and management. Experience working with college-level students in a writing lab or learning center at the college level as well as leadership experiences with high school, college, or adult groups and knowledge of learning disabilities is preferred.
