Summary of Position: The Director of Student Success Data Application will build and deploy a system of ongoing review of student success data for use among advisors and faculty for targeted students through the Student Success Center. Using best practices from research, they will incorporate intervention strategies toward student success for targeted students, particularly students at-risk of stopping out based on the data.
This role is a grant-funded position through September 30, 2028.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that supports student success initiatives and aligns with the university's strategic goals and objectives
Oversee the development and maintenance of data applications, dashboards, and reports that provide insights into student performance and outcomes
Use data to pilot and implement interventions across National & Global services and coursework. Identify data-driven outreach strategies and interventions, and through partnership with relevant departments, pilot these initiatives, measure their effectiveness, and adjust, end, or scale the programs
Collaborate with key stakeholders across the university, including academic departments, student affairs, enrollment management, and institutional research, to identify data needs and develop solutions that support student retention, graduation, and academic achievement
Collaborate with and align work with SIP grant PI, Director of Success Data Application, and grant team to unify and track shared metrics and goals according to the grant logic model, activity objectives, and implementation strategy
Ensure data accuracy and integrity and develop and implement policies and procedures that govern data collection, storage, and usage
Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in data management and analytics and apply this knowledge to improve data applications and processes
Serve as a liaison between the IT department and other university stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration on data-related projects
As a grant-funded position, 100% of effort in this role should align with furthering SIP grant objectives, outcomes, and strategies

Experience
Required Skills
Strong technical skills, including proficiency in data management, analytics, and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Python)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
Knowledge of data governance and privacy regulations (e.g., FERPA), and experience developing policies and procedures that ensure compliance
Ability to lead complex data projects from inception to completion and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Experience working in higher education is preferred
