Title: Director of Student Engagement
Department: Student Affairs
Reports to: Dean of Students
Supervises: Student Engagement Coordinator, Graduate Assistant: Student Engagement, Orientation Assistant, Orientation Leaders
Internal Contacts: Students, Faculty, Staff, Counselors
External Contacts: Parents, Vendors, Administrators at other area schools
Employment Status: Full-Time; Exempt
Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000

Domains
Leadership & Supervision
Work with the Dean of Students and members of the Student Affairs division to continuously improve the student experience at MSM.
Create, disseminate, and help implement annual departmental programming plan.
Assist Dean of Students with the annual budget request process.
Plan, create, and implement policies, procedures, and programming efforts of the office, working with Student Engagement Coordinator.
Hire, train, and supervise Student Engagement Coordinator, Orientation Assistant, and Orientation Leaders.
Hire, train, and supervise Graduate Assistant: Student Engagement Coordinator.
Plan and facilitate the annual student leadership recruitment and selection process, in conjunction with Director of Residence Life.
Coordinate and supervise Title IX education and sexual violence prevention.
Collaborate with campus partners in updating and maintaining divisional technology information systems and processes.
Events & Programs
Oversee (directly or indirectly) the planning and facilitation of orientation materials, events, meetings, and activities.
Coordinate move-in day for Andersen Residence Hall, in collaboration with Director of Residence Life.
Manage the planning and facilitation of all campus-wide Student Engagement events.
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate annual commencement ceremony with Dean of Production and Performance Operations.
Develop and maintain a system of tracking departmental event/program frequency and attendance.
Administrative Duties
Maintain Student Engagement portion of the Accepted Students website.
Track budget for orientation, fall events, spring events, supplies, student organization support, and commencement.
Oversee management of student services provided by Student Engagement, specifically MSM student IDs and student lockers.
Attend and participate in staff meetings led by Dean of Students.
Serve as member of Jenzabar Module Managers committee.
Attend and participate in school-wide staff meetings and activities as requested.
Perform duties as assigned by Dean of Students.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree, Master's in higher education administration or related field preferred
5+ years of related experience in higher education administration
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Sensitivity to and awareness of the needs of student musicians/artists
Ability and willingness to work collaboratively
Ability to approach difficult situations creatively
Computer skills using software packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Jenzabar
Professional and ethical work behavior with ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
