Director of Strategic Sales
Location: Hoboken, NJ or Oxford, UK

The Director of Strategic Sales is responsible for developing and managing the execution of a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and the expand customer base for Wiley's global multi-channel Reference business. The Director of Strategic Sales will partner closely with cross-divisional sales leaders and Reference leadership to identify opportunities and drive business growth. In addition, you will collaborate with marketing colleagues to ensure that activities are aligned with sales opportunities. Responsible for overseeing creation practices and tools to support the global sales organization and partners with the business by preparing sales pitches to pursue new opportunities, including new or expanded partnerships. The Director of Strategic Sales will proactively seek opportunities to review and improve business processes and models that drive revenue, profitability, or portfolio growth.
Effectively communicates and persuades at all levels, both internally and externally.
Previous experience as a Sales Manager or Marketing director
Ability to interpret complex information and formulate tactics based on analytics and evidence
Ability to identify risk and opportunity quickly
Experience working strategically and collaboratively across departments without direct authority
Ability to drive the sales process from start to close; ability to position product against competitors
Ability to develop effective relationships and progress initiatives forward
Demonstrated success in navigating organizational complexity, with a willingness to engage in change
Ability to travel internationally
