The Cincinnati Insurance Companies are building a new Innovation Hub, leveraging innovative internal talent as well as talent from the startup and local university communities to use innovative processes and technologies to advance the vision of the business: To be the best company serving independent agents, the Hub will be business-focused and results-oriented, committed to improving the experience of our agents and those they serve. The Hub will be in our headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio, with additional dedicated space at The University of Cincinnati's 1819 Innovation Center, part of a thriving uptown innovation corridor.

CIC is seeking an experienced innovation director to lead the newly formed Innovation Hub.

Responsibilities

  • develop and build innovation framework, tools and methodologies for the company
  • obtain knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborate with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions
  • work with startup ecosystems to understand trends, identify talent and build relationships with potential business partners
  • work with university partners to find talent, leverage capabilities and drive solutions
  • generate innovation opportunities in alignment with business objectives
  • create a business-centric, results-oriented culture that focuses on strategic vision of the company
  • actively cultivate a collaborative, high-performing team to tackle business challenges and opportunities
  • identify and leverage growth opportunities to increase revenue and enhance profitability
  • collaborate effectively across the organization to understand needs, ensure executable strategies and successfully drive results
  • assist the business with incremental innovation strategies and drive innovation in collaboration with business partners

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of success in driving innovation and change
  • demonstrated project management skills and end-to-end project delivery
  • demonstrated success in identifying and attracting talent and building innovation teams
  • demonstrated results in driving innovation to achieve desired business impacts
  • expertise in innovative methodologies and tools
  • understanding and high competency in customer-centric businesses and trends
  • expertise in change management and strategic thought leadership to drive process and cultural evolution necessary for innovation
  • ability to collaborate with business and technology teams to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • deep integration in the local and national startup ecosystem

Education: bachelor's degree

  • experience with existing and emerging methodologies, including Lean Startup, Design Thinking, and Agile
  • ability to create a strong network of relationships among peers, internal partners, external constituencies, decision makers and stakeholders

Job Summary Working as a Unit Director, you are responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling functions and activities of department. Key Responsibilities: * Reviews and evaluates existing programs, services, policies and procedures * Monitors flow and quality of work to assure timely completion of workload and adherence to facility's standards and regulations using computerized programs for preventive and corrective maintenance, construction projects, financial management, and energy controls * Prepares and manages departmental budgets, including the utilities energy savings program * Manages and ensures regulatory compliance with the Joint Commission, State Health Department, EPA, DEP, ADA, UST, and other regulatory agencies * Provides guidance, training and motivation to staff * Successfully provides effective client rapport * Monitors work performance and prepare performance evaluations for personnel Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related experience preferred * Minimum of 5 years hospital engineering maintenance experience at Director or Assistant Director level required * Experience in hospital project and construction management preferred * Must have working knowledge of the Joint Commission, NFPA and other healthcare regulatory agencies Apply to Crothall today!
