We have a new employment opportunity for an experienced RN Director of Staff Development (DSD) / Staff Development Coordinator in a quality Nursing Home / Skilled Nursing Facility located in San Diego, California.

Director of Staff Development responsibilities:

Monitors staff license status

Manages Infection Control

Provides appropriate in-services

Maintains employee education and certification files

Tracks employee health issues

Director of Staff Development qualifications:

Prior experience as a DSD / SDC within Long Term Care required

Registered Nurse (RN) credential required

Infection Control experience

Enthusiastic and energetic

Familiar with adult learning techniques

Comfortable with training large groups

Candidates with a proven track record in the areas of manufacturing process definition and development, nano-and microfabrication, materials research and development, and Synthetic Chemistry development will be considered. You will work as part of a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team. As the interface between materials engineering, surface chemistry, and biochemistry, you will be accountable for designing world class genotyping consumables that enable high volume screening applications. Within this role you are dedicated to adding value and thrive being part of a hard-working team that aspires to be the best in the industry. You seek out opportunities to improve consumable product design and the processes to manufacture them. You think at a program level and consider up and downstream implications of your work; paying attention to sustainable infrastructures in your normal approach to your everyday activities This position relies on effective engagement with many groups, outside partners, and critical suppliers. Tasks and Responsibilities: * Depending on the project or program, be able to effectively work as an Individual contributor, technical mentor, core team member, or technical project manager * Provide input, direction and critical parameters to the consumable development group based on assay requirements * Be able to set rigorous specifications for complex products * Advanced statistical analysis, formal Design of Experiment, DOE, statistical software (JMP, Minitab) * Help to drive the definition of requirements for complex, high precision consumable products, in conjunction with cross-disciplinary project team that include Marketing, Instrument, Chemistry, Biochemistry Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain * Drive selection and qualification of critical supplier for parts, tooling and manufacturing * Define specifications, test plans, SPC metrics and QC approaches * Resolve early production issues to stabilize quality and yield * Assist in the transfer of development to Manufacturing * Interact with the project team to review test plans, present data, and propose changes in design or test method. All listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities. Preferred Experiential & Educational Background: * Ph.D. in Physical, Polymer, Materials, or Synthetic Chemistry, Materials Engineering, or related discipline * 8-10 years of experience required in the design and development of genomic testing consumables, medical device consumables, MEMS and/or precision plastic and glass microfluidics * In-depth knowledge of precision tooling/machining, injection molding, and materials conversion for high volume production. * Demonstrated broad technical experience in surface chemistry, plastics, and adhesive materials. * Experienced in product development processes; from requirements definition, analysis, architecture, design, integration, verification/validation, and manufacturing. * Experienced in supplier management from selection through qualification. * Knowledge of FDA and cGMP requirements for medical device product manufacturing a plus. * Experience with ERP and document management systems a plus. * Strong troubleshooting background, including knowledge of methodologies and Root Cause analysis methods. * Highly collaborative, self-motivated, with excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
