Position Overview:

The Director of Sourcing is responsible for developing a strategic approach to the Sourcing (procurement) and management of processes for the purchase of goods and services. In this leadership role, the position will direct the Sourcing team, develop and/or update procurement policies and procedures; and lead the procurement program that will add value and efficiency to the organization. The team will have tactical responsibility for the development and implementation of policies, procedures and systems that support the company's acquisition and management of goods and services. Also, while not all purchases flow through Sourcing, the Director of Sourcing is responsible for providing policy and procedure for best practices in the acquisition process.


  • Review (and revise as needed) and communicate a Sourcing business plan; establish, communicate and implement short-term and long-term goals for the department in order to promote effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Serve as the primary contact for procurement related questions, training, policy and procedure interpretation and alignment by all departments.

  • Manage current procurement policies, procedures and programs with a focus on enhancing organizational value and efficiency.

  • Meet regularly with respective departments regarding procurement needs, ensure their understanding and/or recommendations to enhance policies, procedures.

  • Develop, communicate and implement new/revised policies, procedures and programs as needed.

  • Manage the sourcing life cycle process to acquire goods/services, to include market analysis, sourcing, RFI, RFP, analysis, selection, negotiations.

  • Review and approve new vendors and oversee the organization's Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) activities.

  • Provide iProcurement system oversight and approve changes as required.

  • Provide procurement support in the following key areas: real estate, all technology, professional services, marketing (labels/envelopes), outsourced services, telecom, wireless, facilities management, HR services, spare parts, equipment, fleet, financial (bank, credit card, insurance, etc.).


  • Bachelors degree required, MBA preferred

  • 8-10 years' experience in a procurement/sourcing function

  • Technology acumen (Hardware, Applications, Outsourcing, Software licensing)

  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills

  • Solid contract terms and conditions knowledge (review/draft)

  • Strong communication skills

  • Outstanding team building and leadership skills

  • Well organized and process oriented

  • Solid business acumen/operations understanding /experience

  • Strong computer skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
