Position Summary:

GOLFTEC is seeking a Director of Software Product & Community to manage the software business and product lines for SkyTrak Golf. This role will be responsible for overseeing the product strategy, development, and management of our software applications, as well as fostering a strong and active user community of golfers.

An ideal candidate for this role has a passion for golf, is fluent in the end-to-end processes, has a solid acumen for business and consumer products/services, thinks strategically, has led consumer product lines (preferably software products), and has been directly involved in building a community of users with a reputation for expanding offerings to bring greater value to the consumer and long-term relationships with the company. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent SkyTrak as the resident expert on the market: competitive software solutions, distribution channels, key engagement and communication channels, and consumer insights.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive software product strategy and roadmap, aligning with company objectives and customer needs.
  • Lead and manage the software product development lifecycle, from ideation and launch to a coordinated market exit.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and designers, to define product requirements and ensure successful execution.
  • Cultivate long term engagement with SkyTrak users by establishing meaningful connections, social networks, and other engagement loops to build long term loyalty to SkyTrak software products.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities and drive product innovation.
  • Gather user feedback and insights to drive iterative product improvements and maximize user satisfaction.
  • Oversee the development of training tools for customer service, sales, the trade, and consumers.
  • Engage with quality control to establish relevant maintenance and quality standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure our software product offerings and community remain at the forefront of the golf industry.
  • Work with the development team to ensure releases are scheduled and managed on a regular basis.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, product teams, and user community leaders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years consumer product management experience preferably with digital products/services.
  • Direct experience in building and managing a community of consumers.
  • Experience gathering and utilizing consumer insights and other market research to make fact-based decisions.
  • Natural inclination to innovation and a curiosity to always strive to make things better.
  • Must have experience developing brand, product, and consumer marketing strategies.
  • Should have a strong understanding of marketing concepts, terminology and stay abreast of all product marketing trends.
  • Must demonstrate a strong entrepreneurial aptitude and be solution focused.
  • Passion for golf and knowledge of golf simulation software is strongly preferred.
