Position Summary:

Responsible for the management and administration of all aspects of the skilled nursing facility service line rehabilitation operations for EncompassCare and functions as a member of the EncompassCare's operations management team in providing leadership in alignment with our mission and values.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be in good physical condition as the position requires the ability to stand on one's feet throughout the day, as well as, push, pull, move and/or lift repetitively a minimum of 10 pounds up to greater than 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Must be able to complete performance requirements independently while using good judgment as well as have the ability to harmoniously work with others

  • Leadership ability to take action and achieve results through others

  • Must be able to read, write and understand the English language

Position Responsibilities:
Clinical Management:

  • Assures all residents needs are met, treatment is well documented, solid outcomes are achieved, and the skilled nursing facility (SNF) operations operate efficiently

  • Provides in-services and training to SNF staff

  • Functions as a resource for clinical program and caseload development

  • Contributes ideas for and implements rehabilitation services across the continuum

  • Provides ongoing training on therapy management system documentation and billing processes

  • Ensures documentation audits for each department are conducted timely

  • Conducts Regional Director (RDO) calls/meetings for communication and training as needed

Customer Relationships:

  • Meets with key facility leadership during site visits

  • Participates in monthly clinical operations reviews with customer as needed

  • Addresses customer and employee concerns in a timely manner and communicates issues to CEO

  • Participates in quarterly clinical operations reviews with customer senior management team members for multi-site chain customers

  • Participates in other facility meetings as requested by customer

Financial/Operational Management:

  • Assures the clinical, operational, and financial success of the clinical SNF operations for EncompassCare

  • Achieves optimal department performance through mentoring, problem-solving, brainstorming, and supervising Regional Directors

  • Visits all facilities at least once per quarter, or more frequently as needed, with availability to Regional Directors and customers via phone and email on an ongoing basis

  • Responds to all email and voicemail within 24 hours of receipt

  • Utilizes therapy management systems to track key metrics and optimize practice performance

  • Leads weekly operations review calls with Regional Directors

  • Participates in other senior management functions as needed to assure customer and EncompassCare success

  • Works with finance personnel in reconciling billing to ensure accuracy

  • Accountable for financial aspects including budget preparation and monthly profit and loss for SNF service line

  • Participates in monthly financial and operational review with CEO

Marketing and Growth:

  • Participates in marketing activities with existing customers as appropriate

  • Identifies EncompassCare growth opportunities in conjunction with Sales/Marketing team

  • Participates in meetings with prospective customers as an Operations team representative when requested

  • Ensures successful rollouts of new contracts utilizing a team approach

  • Participates in health care conferences with presentations and at the booth as requested

Human Resource Management:

  • Assures compliance and integrity in all aspects of EncompassCare performance

  • Assures effective and efficient coordination of staff among facilities, including utilization of EncompassCare temporary staff

  • Works with Recruitment to assure appropriate coverage and practice growth through candidate identification, interviews, hiring, and orientation

  • Visits area colleges and universities in conjunction with recruiting efforts as requested

  • Facilitates student internships where appropriate

  • Completes performance reviews for EncompassCare Regional Directors

  • Assures staff clinical competencies, including compliance with continuing education requirements, licensure and credentialing

  • Develops and monitors retention plans which result in low employee turnover of SNF staff

  • Ensures effective orientation and on-the job training for all rehabilitation service personnel

  • Promotes positive employee relations by facilitating an atmosphere of open communication and problem solving

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Graduation from a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy or an Associate's Degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant or an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Current license as OT, PT, SLP, OTA or PTA in the state of Ohio or Pennsylvania. Must have multiple-site management experience. A minimum of 5 years of rehabilitation experience in a SNF setting. Current, unrestricted driver's license required.
