Supervisory duties over the secondary schools, curriculum, instruction, and assessment, as well as other duties that are relevant and applicable to the progression of the Bullitt County Schools towards proficiency.
Job Qualifications:
Professional Certification for Instructional Leadership/Supervisor of Instruction; minimum of three years teaching experience
Job Description/Basic Function: Will support Bullitt County Schools' vision and mission by:
Facilitating the development, implementation, and supervision of the instructional programs in the secondary schools.
Developing and implementing strategies and activities within the Comprehensive District Improvement Plan to assist the district in reaching proficiency.
Assisting administrators, instructional coaches, and teachers with the implementation of strategies and activities in the Comprehensive District Improvement Plan (CDIP).
Serving as a liaison between the Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent and central office with principals, teachers and community.
Assisting principals in the planning, development, and implementation of effective programs of supervision and evaluation.
Being visible in schools and at school and community events.
Assisting principals with the development of corrective and assistance plans for staff.
Leading in the evaluation of instructional methods and programs, and recommending changes and improvements as needed to schools and councils.
Receiving and resolving parent and community issues related to schools.
Working with the district Response to Intervention (RTI) team in developing/revising district plan and assisting schools in their understanding of RTI.
Providing leadership and assisting school personnel to include comprehensive and appropriate resources for instruction.
Serving as the district contact for programs that affect secondary schools
Collecting data from secondary schools and reporting to the district coordinator for state and federal programs (ESS, Title reports)
Working with Director of Assessment, Data and Research to review data from interim and state assessments and coordinating improvement efforts in schools.
Assisting in the collection of formative data to be used for evaluation of building principals.
Serving as the district contact for Governors' Scholars.
Serving as the liaison between the secondary school's athletic directors and exercising general supervision of the overall athletic program.
Coordinating with local colleges and universities on MOAs for dual credit courses.
Insuring that secondary schools are implementing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
Being regular in attendance and punctual.
Supporting the superintendent in his overall administrative efforts, interprets his ideas and decisions to staff and public, keeps him informed of pertinent developments and events, and seeks his counsel on decisions when necessary.
Performing other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent, Chief Academic Officer and/or Superintendent
Terms of employment: 240 Days (187 days, 53 extended days)
Salary based on board approved salary schedule for the 2024-2025 school year.
Position is for the 2024-2025 school year.
