Director Of Science

The Harrison Central School District, a high-performing International Baccalaureate school district located in lower Westchester County, New York, is currently seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Director of Science. This K-12, district-level leadership position requires candidates to hold valid New York State certification in administration (SDA or SDL), certification as a science teacher, and at least seven years of successful teaching experience. Leadership experience as an administrator, professional developer, and/or mentor preferred.

The expertise and responsibilities required of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Providing visionary leadership to promote the development of an integrated, K-12 science and technology program.

• Supervising K-12 curriculum, instruction, and assessments for the science and technology programs district-wide.

• Coordinating the District's award-winning science research program, which includes participation of over 80 students and recently produced finalists in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair.

• Contributing to the design of a state-of-the-art STEM center that supports the integration of science, technology, and mathematics.

• Observing and evaluating K-12 science and technology teachers to enhance teacher performance.

• Designing and delivering professional development to promote teacher growth and enhance program effectiveness.

The salary and benefits for this position is highly competitive for Westchester County, including:

• Minimum starting salary: $152,413 (higher with experience and/or doctoral degree)
