In this position, you will oversee regional sales teams, develop and execute strategic plans to identify and hunt for new customers based on our ideal customer profile, promote our industry leading technology, and ultimately help the world park better.

Approximately 115 million cars and trucks are used to commute to work in America every day, according to the 2016 American Community Survey, and all those cars must park somewhere. For many, parking is more stressful than driving.

Working out of the Southern California and Nevada area, the Director of Sales, Western US, will oversee all sales in the Western regions four territories West, South, Pac West, and Los Angeles & Las Vegas, as well provide leadership, coaching and mentorship of all Regional Sales Managers and monitor and report on all sales activities in the regions.

Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience in the parking industry and a demonstrated hunter mentality. Successful candidates will also possess the ability to:

  • Prospect and identify key executives at target companies and lay the foundation for a strong, long lasting relationship.
  • Develop and build partnerships with strategic key customer personnel through a "top down" consultative selling approach.
  • Develop and qualify opportunities within large enterprises.
  • Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sales
  • Manage, track, and report sales activities and results Salesforce and Zebrafi.
  • Develop & manage strategic sales plans.
  • Provide management reports, budgets, forecasts or data that may be requested by senior management.
  • Achieve budgeted / targeted financial goals.
  • Advise senior management of anticipated changes in customer needs or market direction and assist in defining the future needs of these markets.
  • Effectively manage, administer, and maintain market intelligence data and submit accurate sales activity/call reports into the Customer Relation Management System (CRM) Salesforce & Zebrafi.
  • Provide accurate reports for expenses with appropriate documentation.
  • Performs any directly related appropriate duties assigned by the Executive Vice President of Sales.
  • Promote and contribute to a team focused, positive, cooperative working environment.

The Role: Xylem Analytics seeks to hire Regional Sales Manager who will be responsible for managing sales and technical support for Western Region in our Surface Water/Ocean Coastal market vertical. The key roles of a Regional Sales Manager will include: managing a small team of Regional Sales Representatives and sales of the organization's products in a specified region or major geographical area and provides ongoing support to our product distribution channel. Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities: * Identify high revenue opportunities and provide support to the Surface Water and Ocean Coastal (SWOC) sales team. * Manage direct sales staff, including hiring and quarterly reviews. * Organize sales training for representatives in order to identify target markets, address competitive technologies, and outline proper business strategies for our SWOC products and services. * Work with representatives to develop an annual business territory plan, promotional plan, and sales strategies. * Develop medium and long-term plans for continuous improvement of representative's performance and the market development in the region. * Communicate monthly results and forecasts. * Submit monthly call reports concerning sales related activities for opportunities, quotes, orders, and problem resolution. Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification: * Bachelor's Degree in a Physical Science, degree in Business Administration with sales experience for analytical instrumentation, or commensurate experience * 3+ years' experience managing sales channels, preferably within the analytical instrumentation industry. * Technical experience such as in a field, lab, or environmental water testing role, hydrology, oceanography and/or working with analytical instrumentation. * High level of negotiation and selling skills. * Effective written and oral presentation skills. * Ability to multi-task through use of tools such as personal computer, telephones, and e-mail; and the ability to apply the knowledge of like or similar events into new situations * Follow through on communications and responsibilities. * They will have a successful history of problem solving/solution finding, listening and understanding business and equipment related issues, and be comfortable and capable in addressing large groups of people. * There will be at least 50% overnight travel by car and plane. Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrated experience in growing a technical sales territory. * Direct experience with Salesforce CRM. * High level of knowledge with water quality monitoring equipment, water velocity and flow monitoring instrumentation and data collection/ telemetry platforms.
