As Director of Sales you will develop and set revenue sales and marketing strategies for the hotel to ensure plans are implemented, results are monitored, and sales goals are achieved. Regularly sell hotel rooms, meeting rooms and food and beverage through direct client contacts.


  • Manage everyday activities, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers

  • Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleagues - recognise good performance

  • Train team members to make sure they deliver with compliance and to the standards we expect and have the tools they need to work efficiently

  • Recommend or initiate any HR elated actions where needed

  • Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive connect departments to create sense of one team


  • Hit all personal/team sales goals and maximise profitability

  • Achieve budgeted revenues and personal/team sales goals and maximise profitability. Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget, the hotel marketing plan and business plan, and financial plans

  • Help prepare the departmental budget and financial plans including the hotel marketing plan

  • Create and implement sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, increase volume, food and beverage and banquet sales

  • Produce monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyse current/potential market and sales trends, coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share and monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan

Guest Experience

  • Help guests - you'll be happy to help if someone needs assistance with a request or complaint

  • Provide guests with information (example: loyalty programmes, area attractions, restaurants, facility information) to enhance guest experience

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and outside contacts in order to produce group and/or convention business, to include room sales, food & beverage sales, and catering/banquet services

  • Schedule conventions and/or business group activities at the hotel and coordinate with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients

Responsible Business

  • Raise the awareness and reputation of your hotel and the brand locally

  • Identify improvements to marketing activities and overall hotel sales performance and work with other departments

  • Ad-hoc duties unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done

What we need from you

  • Bachelor's degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in marketing or related field

  • Two to four years' experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting with direct supervisory experience over a sales team, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Catering and extended stay experience is advantageous

Candidate will be responsible for the organization's Human Resources functions. This individual is accountable for interacting with all levels of management and employees. Organizational Relationships: The Director of Human Resources (Employee Success) reports to the Vice President of Employee Success. This role works with all levels across the organization. Responsibilities Job Responsibilities * Oversees and manages the entire end-to-end leave of absence process and ensures accurate compliance with all federal regulations related to family medical leave, Americans with Disabilities Act, military, personal leave and short and long term disability. * Provides coaching, guidance and advice to managers and employees relative to leave requests, modified work schedules, return to work and timely completion of required paperwork. * Trains and develops employees. * Plans, assigns, and directs work. * Coaches for performance including appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. * Support and protect the integrity of UPC through compliance related to all HR policies, programs, and State/Federal statutes/regulations. * Establish, monitor and communicate key performance metrics; lead in improvement and problem solving efforts. * Create long-range compensation and benefit strategy. * Manage and support vendor relations with consultants and business partners. * Support an environment of safety and integrity in compassionately and skillfully managing employee relations. * Provide an open, supportive and informative communications environment from the macro-level (social media, newsletters, etc.) to the individual level, allowing for employees to safely and privately discuss problems and issues. * Ensure organizational integrity and efficient, effective operations through the selection and use of human resource information systems and technologies * Performs other such duties as may be assigned by the Vice President of Employee Success. Qualifications Qualifications: * HR management experience within large organization (i.e., over 500 employees) is strongly preferred. * B.A. required. Human Resources or Business-related Master's degree preferred. * SPHR or PHR desired. * Six + years experience in an HR capacity with increasing responsibility to include at least three (3) years in a management role. * Excellent presentation skills. * Requires outstanding interpersonal, coaching and listening skills with the ability to communicate positively within all levels of the organization. * Expert knowledge of Federal, State and local employment and wage laws and regulations. * Proven ability to remain objective, discrete and exercise common sense at all times. Able to develop strong, trusting relationships within department and organization. * Thrives in a dynamic environment and able to work on various projects simultaneously, requiring strong organizational and time management skills. * Able to communicate an inspiring vision, and to lead and participate in strategic planning and execution.
