We are looking for an experienced sales strategy and operations professional that has deep experience working for technology companies and in high-growth sales environments. You will be comfortable driving sales initiatives, planning activities, and projects and analyses which move the business forward. You must have a bias towards action, proven manager and leader, can dig deep into the data, and have an entrepreneurial spirit.

The Head of Sales Strategy will have a proven track record of providing both strategic & tactical insights to support the hyper growth of customer facing teams. You will be the cornerstone for our North American field teams and thrive in a startup environment. You will report to the Vice President of Field Strategy & Operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide proactive insights to business partners based on business acumen and data analysis, be able to identify issues and recommend action plans

  • Provide direction and training to our sales teams to maintain best practice execution of our sales workflows on

  • Define, document, and maintain sales policies across divisions and geographies to encourage the right behavior and alignment with our bookings policy and SaaS revenue model

  • Be a passionate sales advocate and partner with internal organizations to understand and solve complex sales issues

  • Drive operational reviews and rhythm of the business that leverage analysis and established KPIs to ensure disciplined business management

  • Build, coach and lead a high performing Sales Strategy team

  • Take on leadership of global initiatives as a leader of the global Sales Strategy team

What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years of experience in Sales Strategy, Sales Operations or Financial Analyst roles

  • An excellent understanding of standard business practices related to Sales Operations processes and systems (sales cycle, CRM applications, lead generation, reporting, forecasting, territory management, compensation planning and sales quotas)

  • Strong competency with Excel, business models, pivot tables, charts and graphs

  • BS or BA degree required

  • Ability to synthesize information into actionable insights and contribution to both creating and executing business strategies

  • Smart, ethical, friendly, hard-working and proactive (no exceptions)

  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task are critical

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to function as part of a team and adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced, ever evolving environment

Director, Product Marketing and Strategy– Medical Oncology Reporting to the Sr. Director of OSS – Medical Oncology, the director of marketing and strategy has a business-orientation and is responsible for the management and direction of the product marketing team and the co-development and implementation of the strategic plan for Varian OSS's efforts in medical oncology and OIS, in conjunction with the technical product management director. The director will identify new opportunities that leverage Varian's core competencies in MO and OIS, and help with the development of new products and solutions for MO business unit. The director maintains close relationships with the market (customers, evaluators, and potentials) for awareness of market needs. This includes identification of appropriate markets and development of effective product, marketing and commercial strategies and tactics for reaching them. This person is involved through all stages of the product and solution family's lifecycle. Responsibilities * Manage and develop product marketing team and business analysts * Positions the OSS MO business line for worldwide sales growth and market penetration. * Discover and validate market problems * Define and size market segment * Determine the optimum distribution strategy for segment * Work collaboratively with product management director on strategy, technical, and marketing aspects of MO efforts in the portfolio * Develops and executes MO, OIS and SaaS business plan including direct marketing programs to generate awareness, crafts go-to-market messaging, establishes pricing and adoption, conducts competitive analysis, supports the sales and services teams, and engages with current and potential customers. * Define and incorporate MO data strategy into broader OSS data strategy * Identify and cultivate partnerships with 3rd parties (e.g. pharma/biotech/tech companies) * Lead cross-functional teams, set detailed direction, and priorities as required * Work with market development and strategic sales as required * Work with business development teams to identify and cultivate inorganic growth opportunities * Work with Corporate Finance to align on run rate, expense, forecasts and top line assumptions * Directs creation and maintenance of marketing collateral including customer presentations, field training presentations, online and printed marketing content and demos. * Communicates with multiple audiences including internal stakeholders (employees) and external stakeholders (customers such as providers/physicians, 3rd party vendors, etc.). * Ensure synergy with technical product management team, business development team and marketing team * Define product commercialization strategy within the context of diverse worldwide markets, regional regulatory requirements/schedules, supply chain management, and corporate strategy. * Partner with segment leaders (in the US, Asia and Europe) and functional leaders to effectively implement the strategies * Work closely with GEO marketing teams Skills and Job Requirements * Direct research to assess market size, prioritize segments, and determine competitive differentiation * Outline business model and determine cross-discipline resource and investment requirements * Define go-to-market strategy and implementation * Lead and motivate direct and indirect teams * Possess significant influencing and negotiation skills * Identify segment opportunities for new business models and strategies * Be able to frame market boundaries, identify and prioritize discrete segments * Cross-functional leadership and management of stakeholders; align stakeholders both internally and externally and serve as spokesperson * Understanding, knowledge, and practical experience working across Varian product portfolio, healthcare ecosystem and its key players (pharma, medical device, providers, etc.) * BS in marketing or in a technical or clinical area.
