HYATT house is an extended-stay, residential-style hotel that aims to provide individual travelers with the feel of a modern condominium. The 125 to 200 room, all-suite properties offer comforts of home such as fully equipped kitchens, flat panel HDTVs and free high-speed internet access. The Director of Sales has direct oversight of the sales operation of the hotel. The Director of Sales has responsibility of the sales and marketing budget, forecasts, advertising, marketing and business plans, as well as the supervision of a Sales Assistant and Sales Manager. Additional responsibilities include hiring of staff, training, managing and coaching.

The Director of Sales must have thorough experience with professional selling skills: opening, probing, supporting, closing. Must possess exceptional negotiating skills. Must be proficient in general computer knowledge and able to train and monitor the process of sending referrals, setting traces and profiling accounts. Communication and organizational skills are of utmost importance for this position.

JOB SUMMARY Manages all aspects of the Catering department in accordance with company and brand standards. Manages the daily operations of the local catering function including local catering sales, event execution, and department administration. Coordinates details and menus for clients' functions and maintains budgeted revenues through solicitation of business. Monitors and controls financial and administrative responsibilities including asset protection. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience * High school diploma or GED; 5 years' experience in catering management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area. Managing Catering Operations * Manages the daily operations of the local catering function including local catering sales, event execution, and department administration. * Interacts with other catering employees, customers and guests, vendors and suppliers. * Demonstrates knowledge of all departments within the property. * Communicates group needs to various departments within the property. * Prompts handling of all inquiries within market and parameters. * Creates written and verbal presentations effectively. * Meet with the Chef prior to function to verify arrangements and to observe the quality of the food presentation. * Meet with clients to plan their functions and highlight features of facility as well as available services. * Verifies that all local catering events adhere to the established guidelies and regulatory standards. * Schedules local Social Coordinators according to business needs. * Assists the Director of Catering Operations and Executive Chef - Conference Center with menu development and the development of banquet concepts. Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service * Communicates all details of catering events to operating departments and customers. * Manages the quality process in areas of customer service and employee satisfaction. Supporting and Coordinating with the Sales and Marketing Function * Qualifies business and tracks leads. * Solicits and books meetings, conferences and catered corporate and social events. * Finalizes and upsells catering arrangements for group/convention business. * Negotiates and markets to drive sales and create profits. * Identifies customer needs and all sales opportunities which verify successful catering events. * Assign groups, sales leads, and quotas to Local Catering Mangers. * Develops and executes the local catering marketing plan. * Maitains knowledge of the current market.
