Job Description: Summary

Responsible for developing and executing a clearly defined sales strategy in a manner that supports consistent business growth and enhances brand equity and awareness.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

1.Assisting sales teams in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with current and potential referral sources. Directors of Sales are expected to have a grasp of the dynamics, politics and culture that impact decision making and building viable partnerships with individual providers or referral sources.

2.Mentoring, supporting, and "overseeing" direct sales staff for in collaboration with administrators. (All direct sales staff report directly to their administrators). This includes timely review of schedules, weekly activity reports, referral logs, expense reports, mileage and any other pertinent documentation. Providing strategic oversight of sales activities and meaningful participation in the sales process.

Establishing and maintaining accountability for direct sales staff. Understanding, promoting, teaching and selling clinical and operational strengths of our agencies and programs.

3.Building and monitoring company image, reputation and brand awareness in compliance with company vision, mission and core value statements. Upholding and promoting a positive company culture by exemplifying and practicing CHCN core values at work. Exhibiting professionalism and strength of character while representing CHCN.

4.Planning for and participating in the on-boarding process, sales trainings & calls, monthly & quarterly marketing meetings and in-services for direct and indirect sales staff.

5.Maintaining a working knowledge of pertinent arenas including government agencies, community outreach programs, advocacy organizations and all payor sources including ACOs, bundled payment programs, CMS, private insurance and others as they relate to sales.

6.Continuously conducting market assessments and developing sales plans designed to meet volume projections. Completing on-going analysis of CHCN providers & CHCN's competitor's positioning in the marketplace and sharing information with appropriate personnel.

7.Working in tandem with direct supervisor (Senior VP of Sales & Marketing), COO, other executive leadership and local administrators to create and execute winning strategies. Helping sales teams meet expectations and goals while demonstrating autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.

Position Qualifications

1 Experience in health care sales.

2.Ability to sell assertively and deal tactfully with customers and the community.

3.Knowledge of corporate business management model.

4.Good communication, negotiation, and public relations skills.

5.The ability to mentor, support and direct a diverse sales team.

Responsibilities Responsible for interacting and assisting with referrals from Brookdale Communities and healthcare professionals in hospitals, home health agencies, nursing homes, long term care facilities and physicians in private practice. Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and weekly marketing meetings assigned by the Hospice Director and/or the Hospice Sales Coach. Responsible for the overall coordination of business development and education of patients, insurance companies, physicians, hospitals, nurses, community resources, other healthcare specialists and the local community. Establishes relationships with referral sources such as physicians, hospitals, long-term care facilities and assisted living facilities. Ensures referral source lists are governed by Brookdale and revised with approval of Division Vice President or other designee. Apprises the Hospice Director or Sales Manager on a predetermined basis of scheduled presentations. Prepares and presents presentations of Brookdale's various in-services to referral sources and follows-up with the referral sources. Educates referral sources on the components of hospice care services. Serves as a liaison between Brookdale and physicians, hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities and all other referral sources to identify healthcare needs and assist in meeting those needs through Brookdale's various product lines. Communicates frequently with each referral source to ensure that the expectations of the referral source and the needs of the patients are being met. Assists in identifying and resolving any issue, dissatisfaction or problem that the referral source is experiencing with Brookdale's various sources. Evaluates, continually, Brookdale's marketing strategies and advise management on effective strategies and suggests any changes. Serves as Brookdale's representative in the community to promote a positive image of Brookdale and to promote interest in Brookdale's various home health and hospice services. Works closely with Brookdale staff to coordinate necessary services for patients and to promote communication between staff and the referral source. Pre-screens patients, when possible, referred by physicians, hospitals, long-term facilities and assisted living facilities, eligibility and status, when referral is contemporaneous with discharge. Serves as a liaison between hospital and nursing facility discharge planners by visiting patients, as requested, to ensure a smooth transition to the patient's home. Delivers plans of care to physician's offices for signature, as appropriate, and ensures timely return of such plans. Participates in company-sponsored programs and meetings. Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special RequirementsLPN/LVN Licensure preferred. Must have a car with current insurance coverage and a valid driver's license.
