The Flatiron School is seeking a Director of Sales (Employer Partnerships) to join our rapidly growing Career Services team! At Flatiron School, we teach technical skills to passionate, curious people, and help them kick off careers in technology. Our Career Services team is responsible for ensuring our graduates can navigate the job market successfully; as part of that team, our Employer Partnerships function creates, maintains, and deepens relationships with hundreds of employers across the country, giving them access to the best-fit graduates for their teams in the right places, and at the right times. Flatiron School has successfully trained and placed students with backgrounds ranging from Harvard PhDs to low-income students with GEDs, into roles at companies ranging from small startups to organizations like Google, NASA and Goldman Sachs.

The Director of Sales (Employer Partnerships) will be responsible for creating and leading a successful placements strategy across Flatiron's 9 markets (NYC, London, DC, Houston, Atlanta, Seattle, Denver, and Chicago). This leader will work hand-in-hand with the larger organization to ensure we deliver relevant talent solutions to employer partners, and maximize placement opportunities for our students. The Director of Sales (Employer Partnerships) will be based in New York.

The Director of Sales (Employer Partnerships) will:

  • Recruit, hire, train, and track performance of a large and growing team of Managers and Account Execs

  • Set and manage placement goals and other KPIs for relevant partnership channels

  • Define key sales & marketing strategies and budgets required to deliver, and drive successful execution to achieve targeted results

  • Strategically plan and iterate on department staffing models, including org structure, compensation models, and account management philosophy, developing and executing recommendations for improved department management and anticipated growth

  • Nurture, strengthen, and grow the employer network in the markets in which Flatiron operates, helping employers fill hiring needs while ensuring successful outcomes for students

  • Own the inbound and outbound sales process for relevant partnership channels, including lead generation, qualification, prospecting, pipeline building and opportunity identification

  • Personally take the lead on larger partnership opportunities, successfully collaborating with other teams across the organization

  • Provide innovative, scalable solutions including data management and sales processes to achieve team goals (i.e. Salesforce, SalesLoft)

  • Analyze data and develop recommendations for departmental and organizational improvements; execute improvements independently, iterating as needed to achieve team goals.

  • Test and support new initiatives; strategically plan and refine programs to drive business results and support scale

A successful Director of Sales (Employer Partnerships) has/is:

  • 8+ years of experience in sales, sales management, and/or marketing, including 4+ years experience managing teams and producing exceptional results

  • Inspiring and motivating your team to delight employers throughout the sales process, going the extra mile in their communications and service.

  • Effective communicator, with expert presentation, meeting management, goal definition skills. You drive towards clarity and next steps for employer partners and your team.

  • Team player who can work cross-departmentally to contextualize the Employer Partnerships team's needs within the needs of the wider organization, leveraging resources from and collaborating with other departments as necessary and appropriate.

  • Athletic and flexible, and constantly asking yourself whether what we're doing still makes sense in our fast-moving environment. Experience working in high-growth and/or early stage company environments is a plus.

  • Highly adaptable and excited to operate in a fast-paced environment where the rules are often being defined just in time.

  • Analytical and data-driven, you like to analyze what works and what doesn't, and you take action based upon data.

  • Strong collaborator who can establish trust by being a good listener and create relationships quickly with colleagues and partners in the business.
