Job Description

The Director of Rooms is responsible for the performance of the Rooms Division, including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Laundry, Loss Prevention and Guest Services. This is an executive level position reporting to the General Manager. The successful candidate demonstrates their ability to produce balanced financial, guest experience and associate satisfaction outcomes.


  • Tentative Start Date of 8/1/18

  • Oversight of all front office operations including front desk, concierge, bell/door associates and valet parking operations along 4/5 star guidelines

  • Insuring the quality and productivity of housekeeping/laundry (in-house) functions that guarantee the cleanliness of all guest areas, high levels of personal service delivered by housekeeping associates and a stable work force.

  • Excellence in appearance of all areas throughout the hotel

  • Producing constant improvement in guest experience satisfaction metrics

  • Showing year-over-year improvement in associate satisfaction scores throughout the division including maintaining low turnover and high promotion-from-within ratings

  • Controlling payroll and direct expenses in line with the budget and varying levels of business using corporate-wide technology and other systems

  • Participation in weekly forecasting and scheduling activities

  • Providing assistance in developing the annual hotel budget

  • Preparation of action plans as directed by management

  • Daily reviews of operating outcomes (including corrective action if required)

  • Maintaining high visibility with associates and guests


  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalency required.

  • Must have previous experience in all aspects of the Rooms Division in a property of similar size and quality for a period of five or more years.

  • Experience in forecasting & scheduling, daily reviews and analysis of operating results preferred.

  • Proficiency in the use of a computer is necessary (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Must demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to nurture managers-in-training.

  • Must be detail-oriented and organized.

  • Must be able to work closely and communicate with all associates, departments, guests, and clients in a professional manner.

  • Must be highly service-oriented.

VIEW JOBS 1/9/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-09T00:00 This position is responsible for supervising the cleaning of the ISO classified clean rooms and associated activities as directed. Primary responsibilities include supervision of cleaning staff in applying cleaning solution to floors, ceilings, walls, fixtures, and equipment in conjunction with the proper cleaning equipment such as mops, wipes, bucket system, etc. following approved cleaning standard operating procedure. Be able to garb aseptically in a full head-to-toe body suit and wear double gloves while cleaning and able to supervise and accurately make handwritten entries in facility forms is also necessary. Working hours are 9:30 pm to 6:00 am Monday through Friday. Weekends and Holidays may be required. Responsible for the supervision of Laboratory Assistant and GMP cleaning team, scheduling, approving work times and manage work load. Primary Responsibilities: * Daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of the clean rooms that include all classified areas using specified cleaning chemicals * Provide supervision for On call cleaning (may be required during non-scheduled hours) * Respirator is required to be worn for cleaning with certain cleaning chemicals * Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed and that all cleaning, disinfecting and documentation expectations adhere to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation practices (GDP) * Complete all training requirements for specific work areas and Maintain all training requirements for staff * Read and understand all revisions of applicable assigned SOPs, policies and procedures * Work flexible hours including holidays, weekends, overtime and special assignments * Working hours are 9:30 pm to 6 am Monday through Friday. Weekends and Holidays may be required. Initial training / qualifications are required and the will be completed on the 1st shift * Understand and be able to prepare chemicals properly and understand the contact time for all chemicals Required Qualifications: * High School diploma or equivalent * Must be able to work Monday - Friday from 9:30pm - 6am * Must have at least 1 year of previous Supervisor/Manager experience * Must have at least 1 year of previous experience working in a GMP environment * Must be able to travel between the 2 Houston sites each night * Ability to don sterile protective equipment for entry into the cleanroom * Ability to work in a cleanroom and maintain cleanroom etiquette * Ability to multi-mask and meet deadlines with little supervision * Strong communication skills * Be able to lead a team to ensure tasks are being completed in a compliant manner * Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced working environment with great attention to detail * Able to lift up to 40lbs and work overhead * Ability to stand for extended periods of time Preferred Qualifications: * Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience * Previous Aseptic cleaning experience * Familiarity in pharmaceuticals, bio-research, semiconductor, medical device manufacturing cleanroom facilities * Certified and licensed pharmacy technician * A Technician in Training license Careers with Optum.
