SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Director of Risk Management is responsible for overseeing all insurance programs, claims management, and the implementation of safety policies. This role requires maintaining relationships with insurance brokers, managing annual insurance renewals, audits, and payments, and handling the Company's insurance agency operations. The Director will also manage subcontractor programs concerning insurance requirements and safety program prequalification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversee all insurance programs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Manage claims and implement safety policies to mitigate risk.

  • Maintain relationships with all insurance brokers, manage annual insurance renewals, conduct audits, and process payments.

  • Hold or be willing to obtain a 4-40 General Lines Agent License to manage the Company's insurance agency operations.

  • Manage subcontractor programs to ensure compliance with insurance requirements and safety prequalification standards.

  • Desired certifications include CSP (Certified Safety Professional) and ARM (Associate of Risk Management).

  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure risk management strategies are aligned with business objectives.

  • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.

  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.

  • Prepare and present risk management reports to senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Strong understanding of insurance programs, claims management, and safety policies.

  • Proven experience in managing relationships with insurance brokers.

  • Strong leadership and management skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Already licensed or the ability to obtain a 4-40 insurance license within 90 days of start.

  • Desired certifications: CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ARM (Associate of Risk Management).

  • Background in managing subcontractor programs regarding insurance requirements and safety program prequalification.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in risk management or a related field.

  • Experience in managing insurance programs and claims.

  • Experience with safety policy implementation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The work environment is representative of an office setting.
