Director of Resort Transient Sales

An opportunity to represent two iconic resorts, selling memorable and authentic experiences for both Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego California, and Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, in Tucson Arizona. This is a dual-property position with time spent representing each resort equally. Your professionalism and knowledge of the resorts, amenities, and destinations will reflect positively in how you present the properties.

The Director of Resort Transient Sales is the primary point of contact to the luxury leisure market and is an important ambassador for the resorts and the brand. Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: account management, guest room sales, contract negotiations, customer service, and execution of flawless guest experiences. This candidate will identify and solicit new accounts in the leisure travel market, with a focus on the any business travel opportunities as well. The customer base will include travel agencies, domestic and international wholesale operators, extended stay guests and the local business travel market as well as The American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts program. Efforts will be focused 50% on each property with on property travel as needed.

Duties include:

  • Ensure the achievement of targeted sales objectives on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis

  • Conduct sales visits and maintain good working relationships with the Corporate Travel Managers, Business and high-end leisure agencies

  • Conduct entertainment and site inspections for all customer contacts, specifically those with potential future business

  • Build and maintain consistent volume from corporate accounts and high end travel agents (Consortia and BAR segments)

  • On property entertainment

  • Ensure prompt and courteous service is extended to both internal and external customers

  • Development and execution of a successful individual business plan

  • Write individual quarterly action plan (monthly when needed)

  • Maintain accounts, contact, activity and business details within the appropriate software applications

  • Network with other similar Loews hotels and Loews Sales Organization to maximize business opportunities for the resorts

  • Involved in revenue management team of resorts and close relationship with resort Directors of Revenue Management and Directors of sales and marketing to establish goals and strategic tactics

  • Be knowledgeable of direct competitor and employ tactics that will positively move market share for the resorts

  • Develop and execute new promotions, partnerships/strategic alliances to build visibility and revenue opportunities

  • Establish parameters, quotes and negotiate rates, confirming by written contracts

  • Coordinate with the needs for VIPS in leisure market with appropriate property level contacts

  • Review daily arrivals, internet, directories, etc. for future potential and proper tracking

  • Participate in tradeshows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel and trade related organizations

  • Coordinate business trips and appointments within assigned markets

  • Work closely with other departments to ensure all details are in order for on property entertainment, hotel tours and guest stays

  • Take on any special assignments instructed by Director of Sales and Marketing while performing any other job related duties

  • Follow departmental policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5 years of sales experience in luxury resort transient sales role

  • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Proficient in Opera PMS

  • Proficient in Lanyon and Hotelligence 360 Reporting and Analytics

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required

  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem solving abilities

  • Highly responsible & reliable

  • Strong solicitation and selling skills

  • Organized and detailed oriented individual

  • Independently motivated

Loews Hotels & Co seeks a senior, creative and strategic marketer to drive the integrated marketing strategies, with a strong focus on demand generation, brand-accretive guest experiences and loyalty. The Area Director of Marketing will be responsible for marketing activities associated with the Loews Coronado Bay Resort, Loews Hollywood Hotel, Loews Santa Monica Hotel, Loews San Francisco Hotel, Loews Hotel 1000 and the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort and will oversee a small team of Social Media and PR associates. Experience in all aspects of the marketing mix is essential. This person will be seated out of either the Loews Coronado Bay Resort or the Loews Hollywood Hotel. Within the confines of the hotels' marketing budgets and business requirements, this position will be entirely responsible for driving innovative marketing strategies and distribution solutions, with a strong focus on demand generation, brand experience and loyalty initiatives which will improve key financial and customer metrics for the hotels and their venues. Essential Functions and Responsibilities * Fulfill a marketing leadership role within the hotels: Analyze their competitive strengths / USPs and develop hotel brand marketing positioning and communicate core consumer messaging that clearly differentiates the hotels from their competitors * Lead the development and delivery of the annual Marketing plans and Marketing budgets in line with the hotel strategic priorities and revenue target by market segments * Develop content let communication plan and integrate across key internal / external channels to communicate hotel positioning and brand passions to target audience. This includes photography, video, copywriting and other forms of storytelling content, ensuring delivery in adherence with brand guidelines and hotel positioning. * Work collaboratively with Sales and Revenue Management teams to create individual tactical & segmental marketing plan for each designated hotel focusing on demand generation and high impact activities with proven ROI across all key segments (meetings, leisure, Suites, restaurants,…) * Liaise with the Digital Field Marketing Manager to ensure online platforms, digital campaigns, CRM and media are optimized to drive improved revenue and profitability to the hotels * Drive the positioning / activation of the restaurants & bars on the local market. Work with internal and external resources to define clear positioning for relevant outlets that resonates under the overall hotel positioning. Develop & implement local marketing activities aiming to engage with locals and increase capture ratio from in-house guests. * Act as a Brand Champion with the hotel teams. Together with the General Manager and Property Brand Activation Teams, drive brand activation and ensure the brand experience comes alive through the hotels 'messaging and guest experience. * Pro-actively identify relevant marketing partners for the hotels and manage these relationships profitably to raise hotel awareness, drive demand, deepen loyalty and enrich brand experience * Drive loyalty marketing: Focus on increasing engagement with returning guests and YouFirst Members through the organization of events, and personalized guest experiences * Support sales team with the creation of marketing collateral and tactical promotions associated with the key market segments (E.g. Groups, Meetings, Suites…) * Ensure full compliance with all Loews brand Marketing standards & programs * Champion and manage the Social Media strategy in line with the brand positioning and hotels' stories.
