Director of Residential and Auxiliary Services Position

Today, Conexio Care serves as one of Delawares largest nonprofits, collaborating with government, community, corporate, and other philanthropic partners to maximize services for our states most vulnerable The Program Ambassador is a member of the clinical team who assists clients and guests in gaining access to safe, timely, and quality services.

The Director of Residential & Auxiliary Services is a senior manager responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of services to individuals enrolled in the program. The Director will interface with the Delaware Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDDS), Long Term Care Residents Protection, family members, and other stakeholders and will ensure the effective and efficient management of program assets and resources. The Director will provide guidance and leadership in achieving the program goals and objectives.

The Director of Residential & Auxiliary Services supports the coordination with the organizations operational units (e.g., IT, Talent Acquisition and Staff Success, HR, Procurement) to ensure the IDSS program maintains the infrastructure necessary for the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of services. The Director of Residential & Auxiliary Services will be responsible for reviewing data and making recommendations to the Director of Community Integration Services and other leadership to improve the experience of individuals served and the employees who serve them. The Director will work with the Administrator of IDRS to provide leadership in improving clinical services in the IDS programs.

Professional Credentials

  • Valid drivers license

  • Satisfactory background investigation report

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of work experience in providing residential and other supportive services to adults with cognitive/intellectual disabilities and/or or mental health disorders.

  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience.

  • Masters degree in rehabilitation, mental health, or human services field preferred.

  • Behavioral health license a plus

Responsibilities

  • Inspires staff to provide effective, person-informed services with a focus on hope, strengths, and wellness.

  • Ensures the effective delivery of IDS services in accordance with policies and procedures; state and federal regulations; accreditation standards and extant professional, ethical, and legal principles.

  • Monitors the outcomes of the program in accordance with established benchmarks and develops corrective actions to ensure that opportunities to improve quality and outcomes are taken.

  • Oversees all clinical and administrative activities of the residential and supportive services units of the IDS department.

  • Ensures the maintenance of accurate and thorough electronic clinical records per DDDS and Agency requirements in a timely manner,

  • Monitors the utilization of organizations Electronic Health Record (EHR) ensuring that staff complete required documentation in accordance with policies and procedures and using the EHRs reporting capabilities to examine productivity and compliance.

  • Monitors all programs for compliance with utilization, billing and other contractual targets and ensures that these are met. Develops corrective action plans to address any deficiencies that may occur.

  • Assists with efforts designed to ensure the safety and security of individuals served, including conducting inquiries, collaborating with internal and external investigators, analyzing the root cause of problems identified, and developing corrective action plans to address problems identified.

  • Assists with efforts to document and maintain all necessary regulatory and voluntary credentials, licenses, and certifications.

  • Develops, implements, and monitors practices to reduce opportunities for fraud, abuse, neglect, and misuse of client and/or organizational resources.

  • Coordinates with the appropriate departments and other providers to ensure that staff have the resources necessary to provide contracted services and to optimize agency assets, including residential facilities, vehicles, and equipment.

  • Attends regular staff meetings and person-centered plan review meetings.

  • Provides administrative oversight to ensure that positions are filled, personnel work the required hours and perform the required tasks to ensure that services provided are evidence-based and meet the needs of the individuals served.

  • Promotes effective working relationships as part of the IDS team to facilitate the programs ability to meet its goals and objectives.

  • Ensures that all program activities enhance an individuals independence, dignity, and social responsibility as appropriate, based on the individuals person- centered plan.

  • Supports in the maintenance of an environment which fosters group decision-making and person-centered planning whereby each member is accountable for group decisions.

  • Works in close collaboration with the Director of Community Integration Services and other senior leaders to ensure that the program meets its clinical and administrative objectives.

  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity for all clients, families, guests, fellow employees, and other collaborators to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.

  • Collaborates effectively with internal and external referral sources.

  • Monitors the physical appeal and safety of the residential and administrative locations.

  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned, verbally or in writing.

  • Intellectual Disability Service: Knowledge of community resources and services for persons with intellectual disabilities, mental health disorders, and their families.

  • Hands-on, non-violent physical intervention utilizing the approved method may be required to ensure the safety of the individuals we support.
