What We're Looking for:

The Director of Real Estate Investments will help establish Domio as the global leader in apartment-hotels. They will help manage the expansion of the portfolio by rapidly growing our supply of profitable Domio properties. This person will source and lead master-lease, acquisition-to-lease, improve-to-suit, and build-to-suit apartment-hotel transactions.

At Domio You Will:

  • Execute transactions on a regional and national basis for Domio

  • Source new apartment-hotel transactions

  • Coordinate with local and regional market heads on sourcing efforts

  • Oversee Real Estate Investment Associates through the structuring, due diligence, funding, and post-closing execution process

  • Collaborate with regional real estate teams

  • Review and negotiate transaction documents (LOIs, PSAs, Leases, etc.)

  • Oversee the preparation of materials for internal investment committee

  • Oversee the preparation of materials for Domio's capital partners

  • Perform market and data analyses to evaluate new market expansion opportunities

  • Analyze area zoning, building codes, and regulatory conditions

  • Build relationships with real estate developers, managers and private equity investors

  • Work with management team to drive property expansions

  • Assist the management team with investor reporting and fundraising

Who You Are:

  • 4-8 years of real estate private equity, real estate investment or development experience

  • Proficient in financial modeling and quantitative analysis - especially in Excel

  • Must be collaborative and team oriented

We work with national and regional clients across the entire real estate sector, including developers, investors, owners, operating companies, investment funds, real estate investment trusts, and non-profit organizations. Real Estate Banking: Real Estate Banking (REB) delivers commercial real estate and banking products to top-tier clients active in major markets across the U.S. Primary property types include multifamily, retail, office and industrial properties. REB clients are top-tier national and regional real estate developers, investors, Real Estate Operating Companies (REOCs) and opportunity and investment funds. REB has broad national capabilities and expertise in real estate credit, including: * Commercial and multifamily construction * Acquisitions * Structured revolving facilities * Term mortgage lending * Subscription facilities The business also often assembles and manages large multi-bank syndications to finance institutional quality real estate investments for clients at both the asset and entity level. National Fund Manager and Subscription Lending Platform: This platform is focused on developing JPM's subscription lending business and full-scale banking relationships with real estate fund manager clients, through a consultative approach to the fund management industry. We cover these clients on a national basis for both REB and CCBSI-RE. Our clients are top-tier real estate asset management firms who are forming both open and closed-end funds to invest in real estate assets. They are raising equity for these investments from institutional investors, such as public or corporate pension plans, endowments and foundations. Our subscription lines then advance against these equity commitments. This is the first key piece of debt capital for these funds, which establishes a foothold to develop a full-scale banking relationship for JPM, including treasury services, asset financings, and entity- level lines of credit. In this platform, we act as subject matter experts in the fund management industry, using our knowledge to assist Client Executives across the nation to prospect for top- tier fund sponsors that are in need of a subscription line and banking partnership. The position will be responsible for overseeing and driving the new subscription line origination process for commercial real estate clients in the Northeast Region of Real Estate Banking. The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of the commercial real estate industry, subscription lending, banking rules and regulations, and have had prior experience of transacting and administering real estate loans. Candidates must be experienced, independent, and qualified credit professionals with the ability to manage a number of dynamic credit situations, as well as act as a leader to efficiently utilize team resources and provide accurate, timely results. Responsibilities include: * Overseeing the key credit initiatives, on a national basis, for the subscription lending credit platform, as well as calling on subscription lending clients to grow the market share in the Northeast markets (NYC, Boston, Washington DC) * Assisting with training and development of junior staff members and in some cases managing staff where applicable * Assisting with identifying and executing on key business opportunities to enhance JPM relationships with fund sponsors * Evaluating new loan opportunities; identifying strengths and weaknesses of proposed transactions * Structuring complex loans and coordinating the credit approval process in conjunction with Underwriters, Client Executives, and Credit Executives * Preparing and negotiating term sheets, negotiating loan documentation * Coordinating the real estate closing process, including reviewing the due diligence * Presenting to senior management proposed loan transactions; confidently exercise authority while clearly articulating the reasoning behind recommended credit decisions * Contributing to the development and execution of client strategies in collaboration with Client Executives * Researching and analyzing institutional investors * Reviewing Underwriting, Investment Committee Memorandums, Credit Approval Packages, and Risk Rating recommendations * Overseeing compliance with established underwriting standards and guidelines, credit approval requirements, and other policies and procedures associated with new loan originations * Coordinating efforts with deal team members to ensure best-in-class execution for our clients Qualifications * 7+ years of commercial banking/lending experience, including extensive credit, structuring, closing, and loan documentation experience * Experience in Commercial Real Estate Credit is required * Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly express and support opinions in a confident and diplomatic manner, listen thoughtfully to the input and critiques of managers and team members, and effectively articulate positions to senior management * Superior interpersonal skills to interact with clients, counsel, products partners, and senior management * Significant accounting and finance knowledge, as well as strong knowledge of real estate fundamentals and concepts. * Strong analytical and business writing skills * Knowledge of JPMC or similar bank policies and procedures preferred * Completion of a major corporate banking credit training program * Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Power Point * BS/BA degree (Business, Finance & Accounting preferred; all majors considered) The final officer title and job grade is at the discretion of the firm and will be discussed at the time of offer.
