Position Overview

This position will be responsible for overall coordination and implementation of SIMCO Electronics quality vision. SIMCOs customer perceived, delivered service quality is one of the Companys key competitive advantages in the marketplace. The Director of Quality will provide leadership and assist in the management necessary to achieve company-wide focus on providing our clients with what they perceive to be outstanding service quality. SIMCO currently operates a quality system that is compliant to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 17025:2005. The Director of Quality will implement a Quality Assurance system that meets customers ISO requirements and will coordinate continuous process improvement in meeting service quality goals.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain and enhance service performance tracking systems (metrics) within the Corporation to document performance in meeting customer needs, support efforts to improve efficiency, and identify areas of excellence and deficiency.

  • Maintain existing accreditation for all locations to ISO 9001:2008, ISO/IEC 17025 or other customer-required specifications as necessary.???????

  • Create significant initiatives in the area of total quality management, identifying and educating personnel on process improvement tools and processes and facilitating improvement teams focus on key processes.

  • Design and implement an internal audit schedule for all locations and key subcontractors.

  • Support sales staff in responding to customer inquiries, RFP/Qs and contract reviews.

  • Manage and maintain Complaint and Corrective Action Tracking System and analyze data to establish priorities for improvement initiatives.


  • Understanding of ISO requirements as they affect technical services, and those performance elements affecting customer perception of SIMCOs service within the Biotech, Electronic Components, and Telecommunications sectors.

  • Understanding of and experience in analysis to determine those elements of delivered service which are perceived by customers as excellent performance.

  • Proven history of successfully facilitating the management of superior service quality.

  • Awareness of methods and experience in management of continuous quality improvement.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.

  • BA degree Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline.

  • 8-10 years in Quality Assurance, at least 3 years in medical devices preferred.

No heavy lifting will be required

Working Environment

The majority of the work will be completed in a traditional office environment. Travel will be required to SIMCO locations nationally, customer sites, subcontractors as necessary, and potential acquisition targets.
