Position Summary

POSITION SUMMARY

Purple is looking for an energetic and skilled professional to become part of our dynamic and growing company. The Quality Director will lead the Quality department in developing and maintaining world class quality status. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational leader with a proven ability to lead change initiatives that align with organizational objectives and recognized quality standards such as ISO 9001.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Quality program development and oversight

  • Work to continually improve the Quality of our product through improved quality systems management.

  • Coach and develop business partners in obtaining product and process quality through a strong partnership.

  • Validate new equipment /process /products implemented within the facility.

  • Apply industry best practice policies, processes and procedures as they relate to the integrated management system and quality system as a whole.

  • Develop and drive plant quality KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and share reports with the VP of Quality

  • Ability to work with people effectively ("soft skills"): communication, performance management, change management, motivation, conflict resolution, demonstrate agility.

  • Manage internal audit programs

  • Quality studies and quality process improvement projects

  • Quality committee support and direction

  • Liaison with assigned departments to ensure quality projects are integrated within operations.

  • Interfaces and manages quality communications with customers, suppliers and all levels of the Company, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation

  • Creates, implements and manages quality training within the Company

  • Carries out supervisory activities, including interviewing, hiring, training, directing, discipline and performance appraisal of quality employees

  • Leads use of and training in statistical process controls to aid manufacturing

  • Manages survey, appraisal and monitoring of Company supply chain performance

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Required with an engineering or material science focus preferred.
    10+ years quality management experience in a manufacturing environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • Good knowledge of audit methods and quality improvement tools (Statistics).

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite comfortable in Excel and PPT

  • Ability to manage and put ideas forward. Ability to work in a project team and communicate across the organization (Corporate / Zone).

Position Summary Position Summary Works in a Quality Systems environment to ensure that the Purple Products meet quality requirements This position also supports key areas to assist in the development of an effective Quality System containing but not limited to: quality operations, complaint investigations, CAPA investigation, risk management, internal audit, Process data collection, analysis and trending. The candidate encompasses a professional that can work and develop within a quality management system and with the skills, experience and competences to work in a dynamic environment Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Support and provide Quality oversight to Operations, Engineering, and Warehouse team in their daily activities. * Assist in the development of documentation and records resulting from quality management system activities and according to established procedures. * Perform customer complaints analysis * Process Quality holds * Initiate and complete Quality Investigations to identify root cause and implement effective solutions (corrective and preventive actions) for product/process quality issues, audit observations and quality system compliance issues as required. * Utilize technical background (including statistical knowledge and root cause analysis tools) to assist in data collection, analysis and reporting associated to process improvement but also as input to management for decision making. * Actively participates in preventive/proactive quality and operations improvement projects. * Drive improvements to meet quality objectives and performance indicators goals associated to tasks under responsibility. * Provide support to initiate Change Request packages for Quality System procedure changes. * May lead or coordinate remediation plans associated to Quality System compliance issues. * Ensure fulfillment of compliance training requirements per established schedule. * May conduct internal audits per established internal audit schedule and as designated by Quality Management. * Perform other related duties as assigned or required. * Work on special projects as they arise. Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications * 3-6 years hands on experience working in a manufacturing work environment * Technical writing and problem solving skills required * Written and verbal communication skills, capable of synthesizing a problem statement/situation/observation and providing a concise synopsis to upper management * Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi-task. * Must be capable of organizing data from multiple sources, extracting key information and writing technical reports with executive summaries including statistical analysis of data * Working knowledge of basic statistical techniques * Advanced knowledge and experience in root cause analysis (RCA) and problem solving techniques * Intermediate working knowledge of Excel (pivot table, filtering, graphing), Word and PowerPoint Education and Experience * Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
