Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Massachusetts is seeking a

Full Time Director of Quality Management to join our team!

Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Massachusetts, located in New Bedford, MA is a 90 bed Critical Care Hospital, providing acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Often our patients require additional critical care services for medically complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation and ventilator weaning. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you really get to know your patients and their families.

Position Overview:

Responsible for directing quality management efforts to ensure continuous improvement and organizational excellence, adherence with all regulatory, compliance, accreditation, and legal issues, and promote a safe environment for all employees, patients and visitors. Manage risk issues and oversees the credentialing function for medical staff. Accountable for the development, management and coordination of the hospital-wide Performance Improvement Program designed to improve clinical outcomes and the patient experience. Responsible for maintaining compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation, the Joint Commission standards, COLA/CLIA standards and HIPAA Rules and Regulations. Functions as the Risk Manager for organization as well as the Facility Compliance Officer.

Qualifications/Skills :

  • An active clinical license in the state of employment is required in one of the following fields: Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology or Respiratory Therapy.

  • Minimum three (3) years of work experience or equivalent, in quality/risk management activities required.

  • Knowledgeable in the principles of performance improvement.

Additional Qualifications/Skills :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.

  • Management experience preferred.

  • Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification preferred.

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of functions of all hospital departments and quality improvement requirements as outlined by the Joint Commission, the state of employment's Department of Health and Federal regulatory standards as outlined by CMS.

  • Experience in interpretation of raw data and comparative analysis, experience in conducting educational inservices, experience in coordinating and supervising accreditation/certification survey activities for the Joint Commission, CMS, State Licensure and demonstrated experience in working effectively with multiple departments on confidential issues in a positive and constructive manner.

  • Experience in Risk Management systems and experience in working with the public on issues related to satisfaction/complaints required.

  • Ability to project a professional image.

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.

  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.

  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.

  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.

  • Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Per Federal Health Care Worker Vaccine Requirements, all employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or be approved for a valid religious or medical exemption. Anyone hired by the company must provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccine before they can begin employment or request and be approved for a valid religious or medical exemption. Unvaccinated employees on an approved exemption must submit to weekly COVID-19 testing and wear a respirator at all times while in the facility. Some states and locations require increased frequency testing pursuant to state regulations.

Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Massachusetts, located in New Bedford, MA is a 90 bed Critical Care Hospital, providing acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Often our patients require additional critical care services for medically complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation and ventilator weaning. Develops, implements, evaluates and revises a plan of care of assigned patients and families while promoting the mission and values of Vibra Healthcare. Reviews all patients receiving dialysis therapy and assesses clinical status throughout treatment. Consistently assists team members in the delivery of acute hemodialysis utilizing the established standards of care. Areas of practice are diverse, including, but not limited to, the fields of hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. The provision of care includes direct care along with the delegation and supervision of all nursing care in accordance with the applicable Nurse Practice Act. Specific components of the Registered Nurse role include demonstrating clinical competence; managing patient care; improving quality of care; establishing professional relationships and utilizing professional skills; fulfilling responsibilities of the role of the hospital; and developing clinical expertise per specialty. Qualifications: * Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment required. * Current BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor required. * Current ACLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor required within six (6) months of hire. * Two (2) years of dialysis experience, or one (1) year of Critical Care experience, or one (1) year of dialysis experience and two (2) years of experience in the Medical/Surgical field required. * Must be able to accurately interpret color test strips.
