The Company:

Le Sueur Incorporated("LSI"), a portfolio company of Delos Capital, and a leading supplier of complex aluminum castings, machined castings, and plastic injection molded components.

Craft, based in Montrose, MN, is a rapid prototyping and complex metal and plastics component manufacturer. Craft has over 30 years of industry experience and has established itself, along with its skilled employees, as a leader in delivering high-quality parts to customers.

The Position:

The Director of Quality Assurance manages the Company's Quality Management System, including but not limited to planning, developing, and directing the implementation of quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives. Oversees process and product testing to ensure materials, parts, and products comply with established quality standards and government regulations. Develops and implements quality standards, methods, testing procedures, and training. Monitors and assesses the performance of production processes and the quality of finished products for the continuous improvement of operations. Possesses extensive knowledge of industry standards and governmental regulations for product quality.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the Company's Quality Management System parameters are implemented and maintained properly, the system remains effective, and organizational objectives are met.

  • Manages the Quality Assurance function including calibration, radiographic testing, liquid penetrant testing, in-process inspection, receiving inspection, and dimensional layout, as well as internal and external auditing.

  • Leads efforts to obtain and maintain all applicable certifications.

  • Continuously develops the Quality Management System with written standards and procedures including managing the Company's internal auditing system and supporting activities related to all certification requirements.

  • Develops and executes comprehensive Quality Assurance strategies to ensure the quality and compliance of all products.

  • Ensures documented procedures are established and implemented throughout a product's design, development, manufacturing, inspection, test and delivery processes.

  • Supervises Quality Assurance personnel and oversees quality inspection processes to identify and address any deviations from quality standards.

  • Determines requirements and specifications requested by our customers during the quote of a new project.

  • Identifies and procures the measurement and calibration devices required for the inspection of new products, following the LSI Product Launch system.

  • Coordinates the program to handle internal and external CARs (Correction Action Requests) and NCMR (Non-Conforming Material Report).

  • Manages customer complaints, follows through and communicates with customers to resolve quality related issues.

  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality and the effectiveness of operations.

  • Oversees a variety of processes that are critical to quality compliance and continuous improvement, including corrective action, preventative action, and nonconforming material program.

  • Reviews internal quality audit results to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Develops training programs related to the Quality Management System and regulatory requirements.

  • Documents process metrics for management review and to facilitate continuous improvement.

  • Supervises the Company's Radiation Safety Officer.

  • Responsible for state regulation monitoring compliance.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in engineering.

  • A degree in metallurgical engineering and/or MBA would be a plus.

  • Five or more years of experience managing a Quality Management System in a manufacturing environment.

  • Advanced knowledge of Quality Standards, including ISO9001, AS9100D, NADCAP, and ISO 14001.

  • IATF 16949:2016 experience would be a plus.

  • Experience supervising a metallurgical testing lab.

  • Experience supervising dimensional inspection departments.

  • Experience as a Lead auditor within a manufacturing facility.

  • Extensive expertise in gauging and measurement systems.
