Full-time, Exempt About the Role: We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Public Relations to join our team. As a strategic thinker and exceptional communicator, you'll develop and execute comprehensive communications and media relations strategies that align with our mission, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities: · Develop and execute strategic earned media plans to promote our brand and messaging · Direct and manage media relations, including press releases, media pitches, and media and influencer FAMs · Manage the digital influencer strategy and program · Establish and maintain media relationships with key contacts and publications · Supervise the Communications team to ensure program success and efficiency · Collaborate with the content team to align and integrate social media content with PR and influencer initiatives Our Ideal Candidate: · Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or related field · 3-5 years of experience in a director-level Communications or Public Relations position · Prior experience in destination marketing, travel and tourism, or PR agency roles · Proven sound independent decision-making abilities · Knowledge of Monterey County products and assets · Ability to travel both domestically and internationally · Proficient in Microsoft Office products, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel and familiar with cloud computing environments: What We Offer: · Competitive salary range of $80,000 -$95,000 depending on experience · Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance · 401(k) retirement savings plan with immediate match and vesting · Paid Personal Time Off (PTO) and Sick Pay benefits · Opportunity to work with a dynamic and passionate team · Flexible work schedule, including remote work options · Professional development and growth opportunities · A chance to make a real impact on the tourism economy of Monterey County Our Culture: We value a positive and inclusive work culture, and we're committed to ensuring that all team members feel welcome and have an equal opportunity to connect, belong, and grow.
