POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Director of Project Development builds and maintains lasting and profitable relationships with prospective and established clients. This role assists in setting team goals related to sales and growth strategy, operational execution, innovations in products and services, and continual process improvement. The Director of Project Development drives success by consistently exceeding sales targets in specific market segments and champions the FCL Experience from pre-construction through production.
RESPONSIBILITIES
BUILDS EFFECTIVE RELATIONSHIPS
Builds and maintains relationships at multiple levels of accounts and across all constituents.
Collaborates with several business partners within the company to implement appropriate strategies to address business opportunities and overcome obstacles.
Actively participates in industry events and conferences
BUSINESS INSIGHT
Understands the generic strengths and vulnerabilities of major competitors and develops sales strategies to respond effectively.
Works with senior management to integrate business plan as part of the Company's Strategic Business Plan.
DRIVES RESULTS
Qualifies potential opportunities early in the sales cycle and manages pipeline in his/her market sectors to ensure that opportunities are pursued in a timely way, across various stages of the sales cycle, preconstruction, and production stages.
Ensures the leadership team is involved within appropriate opportunities at pivotal points and is aware of significant developments.
Oversee the preparation of proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure successful project acquisitions within the commercial construction industry.
Communicates regularly with the pursuit team to ensure that they are informed on significant developments and customer issues.
CUSTOMER FOCUS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
BS/BA in Construction Management or related field
At least 10 years of experience in commercial construction project management, preconstruction, or business development
Demonstrated success selling large industrial projects (define scope and size)
Ability to conceptualize developer ideas and solidify such ideas presenting plans and implementation.
Knowledge of all technical and project management aspects of design build projects
PREFERRED:
Previous commercial construction sales/business development experience
Proficient in Bluebeam and MS Project
Intermediate to advanced skill level in MS Excel
Ability to manage on several clients and projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated track record of successfully meet deadlines in high stress environments
Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed project objectives and timeframes
