This position is responsible leading the daily production operations for the Simulation Center of Excellence in order to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering enterprise-wide solutions aligned to simulation product strategy. This position will also be responsible for managing and leading key, multi-million-dollar strategic initiatives, ensuring team alignment and execution by working cross-functionally across the organization, as well as with key outside strategic partners and stakeholders by defining initiative objectives, establishing communication plans, motivating internal production teams, managing risk, and providing delivery metrics to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess insightful analytical and leadership skills, and assertiveness to guide and influence teams and partner relationships in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive production operations to achieve organizational objectives in alignment with business and simulation product strategy through effective project leadership, prioritization and simulation execution.

  • Drive simulation production and delivery, including overseeing scope of project and special multi-million-dollar initiatives, and simulation product release schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of client-facing senior project managers, internal production project managers, and QA resources while holding team accountable for commitments, removing roadblocks to their work, and leveraging organizational resources to improve productivity and capacity for project work

  • Monitor department budgets against financial goals and metrics and proactively project risk and impact of changes in production or scope

  • Represent the business with outside stakeholders for multi-million-dollar special initiatives, including coordinating strategic partners, building and managing credible and effective client relationships, and leading vendor communication

  • Collaborate with, support, and motivate cross-functional product, content development, and platform development teams to build, execute and release projects, and resolve schedule and other interdependency challenges

  • Design simulation-driven measurement systems for automated reporting and continuous product improvement

  • Proven ability to manage internal and external relationships while delivering complex software iteratively and reliably

  • Possess a high degree of technical savvy, with keen ability to learn new technology quickly

  • Strong business acumen with proven ability to predict and manage financial impact of production decisions

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a matrix organization with strong servant-leadership skills and a desire to work collaboratively with internal teams and key stakeholders

  • Ability to translate creative ideas of others and employ production practices and techniques bring them to market

  • Analytical thinker and creative problem solver with demonstrated ability adapt to change

  • Detail oriented with a strong focus on quality

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven ability to align to a strategic vision with multi-dimensional needs and lead program development through delivery

  • Proven ability to manage complex multi-million-dollar client relationships

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience

  • Required at least 8-10 years of relevant experience, including people management

  • Experience leading high-performing, cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment, preferably through product development

  • Experience working in a software development environment; with content delivery components

  • Experience in Program / Project Management

  • Experience with JIRA, or equivalent product management tool

  • Experience in an education or healthcare-related field a plus

Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Financial Aid (SFA) Operations, Fiscal Management, the position supports federal loans and grants processing in the CUNYfirst PeopleSoft environment for 25 colleges and divisions. The Assistant Director troubleshoots system issues, ensures quality customer service to the colleges, performs timely reconciliation with the US Department of Education systems, and assures delivery of accurate and timely payments to students and compliance with federal Title IV, state, city and institutional guidelines for financial aid, scholarship, grant, and tuition refunds. Duties include, but not be limited to the following: * Examine fiscal records, student accounts and related data for federal loans and grants, and resolve discrepancies with the University and the US Department of Education systems. * Maintain a strong working knowledge of Federal financial aid programs, polices and regulations. * Review disbursement systems to ensure accurate and timely student refunds. * Perform data analysis, prepare reports as needed and prepare backup documentations for audits. * Research and evaluate issues raised by Colleges concerning processing, errors, enhancements and coordinates the communication of issues to appropriate technical and operations staff, committees and management; monitors issues through resolution. * Serve as a liaison to the University's accounting, cash management, production support, IT and programming units for disbursement related tasks; including IT staff for daily processing. * Assist with Perkins Loan inquires. * Provide support for daily functions by running various processes and communicate with College staff as needed. * Coordinate training for the Colleges, develop and update training materials. * Attend and represent the department at various council meetings. * Interact with the Colleges, Central Office staff, internal and external auditors and administrators as appropriate. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required Preferred Qualifications: * Two of the four years working in financial aid and/or bursar environment. * Experience using PeopleSoft Campus Solutions modules and database management programs. * Working knowledge of financial aid Title IV regulations and programs. * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. * Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical, technical and research skills. * Strong organizations skills with the ability to establish plans and manage a large workload and multiple assignments with conflicting priorities to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. * Must maintain integrity and confidentiality.
