This position reporting to the Vice President of Program Management will ensure successful production and is responsible for profit and loss on all production lines. This individual is directly responsible for planning and achieving long-range strategic goals, ensuring adherence to program related processes and procedures, reviews, evaluating and approving department plans, product lines and budgets, and evaluating and influencing operating performance by matching results against plans and ensuring that appropriate actions are taken to assure performance within the framework of the approved objectives.
The Director of Product Managers plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated product lines and projects to ensure that the goals/objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervision:
Provide supervision and direction to Product Managers within the organization
Serve as a primary point of contact with the Program Managers and as appropriate the customer, government or prime contractor, resolving problems as necessary and developing/maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
Ensure alignment with company strategy, goals, and objectives
Manage RFQ activities ensuring that product costs and schedules meet or exceed requirements necessary to win profitable business
Deliver and communicate the committed business case and provide senior management with the information necessary to manage the business via internal reviews
Ensure all product lines meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives as well as legal requirements, and company standards
Ensure all products lines have active risk management with mitigation plans and corrective actions when a product does not meet, or is in danger of not meeting cost, schedule or performance requirements
Report product line status and problems to senior management, providing timely resolutions to challenges
Establish training objectives and administer/coordinate training for Product Managers
May be required to personally manage large, complex, or high-risk product lines
This position requires demonstrated effective leadership with the expertise to manage and mentor product managers in risk management, financial management and cost control, strategic thinking, customer relationship and team building, time management, schedule generation, management, inward and outward communications and support of presentation briefings and other requirements as designated within the program management discipline.

Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a matrixed organization structure, interfacing with various organizations in addition to coordinating the efforts of Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, Contracts, etc.
Strong initiative to drive continuous improvements in all areas for maximum return
Ability to supervise the arrangement of systematic and timely reviews to management
Excellent communications skills and proficient computer skills (MS Office)
Prior experience in production or program management of one or more of the following areas is required: electro-optical targeting systems, laser range finders and/or designators, infrared sighting & targeting devices, interoperable and multi-functional EO/IR systems
A minimum of 15 years in leadership
Additional leadership experience within product development, functional engineering management or manufacturing/operations is desired
Engineering, Business, or Technical degree required; MBA or advanced degree desired; PMP certification desired
Must be able to obtain a security clearance, if required
