Director of Product Management- Federal Markets
This is a newly created position that will have visible impact on the organization. As the Director of Product Management - Federal Markets you will be responsible for driving the product management roadmap, strategy and execution for the suite of hardware and software products in the Extreme Networks portfolio. Working closely with the Federal Sales team, you'll be the point person for Federal specific products and solutions roadmaps, strategic and competitive positioning, field enablement and evangelism of Extreme Networks products in the Federal space.
The role requires you to understand technology, and have a holistic view of the business marketplace, our diverse networking portfolio and the US Federal Government audience. You'll bring your business acumen and excellent written and verbal communications skills. You will interface with the Federal Sales team and work with the executive team to set the overall vision for product portfolio, go-to-market strategy, crafting and clearly communicating key messages and value proposition, knowing and monitoring key performance indicators for growth and adoption, understanding the dynamics of both direct, OEM and channel sales, and influencing many teams towards common goals and success.
Location: The position can be remote in the DC, northern VA or NY area, or based at any of the major Extreme offices in the USA: Salem, NH; Raleigh, NC or San Jose, CA.
Define the product and solutions strategy and roadmap for the Federal market, encompassing the wider Extreme portfolio.
Engage and influence the various product management teams to drive the Federal specific features into the respective product roadmaps.
Develop Federal specific Market and Product Requirement Documents (MRDs and PRDs).
Define the Federal Certifications strategy, develop business cases supporting the strategy and present to executives.
Evangelize Extreme products at webinars, Extreme events, conferences, tradeshows, to analysts, partners and customers within the Federal space. Provide solution-level and industry thought leadership at EBC based customer engagements and external industry speaking engagements.
Work closely with Federal sales teams to drive and close critical business needs and drive customer wins. Engage with strategic Federal customers and provide pro-active detailed support to ensure customer success.
Demonstrated Federal Government focus, knowledge & experience
12+ years experience in Product Management, preferably in complex technology portfolios
