We are seeking an experienced Director of Product Strategy to set the future direction of Tyler's Earned Wage Access product offering. The successful candidate will be responsible for partnering across Tyler, working with Tyler's flagship ERPs to build deeply integrated, seamless payroll integration; working with the Tyler Disbursement team to offer robust, modern payment options. The ideal candidate will work with all stakeholders to create go to market strategies specific to the different markets served across Tyler. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with bringing new products to market, has a proven record of partnering across all stakeholders and ideally has fintech and/or payments expertise.

NOTE: This role is a hybrid position that requires the new hire to be in either the Lubbock, TX, Lakewood, CO or Yarmouth, ME office at least 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full product lifecycle from ideation and strategizing to build and launch in collaboration with executive leadership, sales and other key stakeholders.

  • Establish organizational alignment and buy-in of initial and future product strategy.

  • Define go-to-market strategy and lead its execution in partnership with marketing.

  • Lead the team with an entrepreneurial mindset owning all aspects including product management, development backlog, quality assurance, initial sales launch, pricing strategies, project management, training, support and ongoing customer care.

  • Create User Focus groups to validate and adjust current product vision/strategy.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of regulatory and compliance procedures related to earned wage access and drive processes to adhere to requirements.

  • Set an ambitious roadmap for product expansion and user growth.

  • Champion new technologies and functions required to keep Tyler competitive.

  • Create plans and strategies to achieve the product objectives, including published product roadmaps that will articulate the product direction to both internal departments and external customers.

  • Proactively communicate with senior management on the product's performance, any major issues with the products or any changes in the market or competition as related to the product area.

  • Contribute to the advancement of the team environment through integrity, leadership, and continuous knowledge transfer.

  • Mentor staff and team members, with a focus on professional growth, product ownership and leadership. May be asked to manage the team as the product is launched.

  • Demonstrate excellent partnering, communicating, and negotiating skills in order to gather requirements and communicate effectively with other departments as necessary.

  • Create and maintain relationships with key personnel in order to engage in requirements validation and to stay abreast of upcoming changes/additions to requirements.

  • Provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff.

  • Occasional travel required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10-12 years of direct experience in software product management.

  • Experience in launching or scaling consumer products.

  • Experience leading a highly effective team.

  • Highly advanced knowledge of Agile SCRUM development processes.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the full software development lifecycle and associated methodologies helpful.

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Empathy for users with a drive to discover and resolve their pain points.

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills involving the ability to manage multiple work tasks effectively.

  • Owner's mindset to investigate and resolve hard problems.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills involving communicating technical and non-technical information in writing and verbally.

  • Knowledge of banking regulations, compliance requirements and security protocols is preferred.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team as well as across functional groups.

  • Ability to be effective in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to travel occasional if requested.
