About the Role

The Director, Global Strategic Sourcing works in tandem with the entire organization to build, enhance, and own the global sourcing function. As Director, Global Strategic Sourcing you will be responsible for the development, communication, and successful deployment of procurement & sourcing strategies for the Spellman High Voltage global organization. The SCM strategy will directly align and augment the Spellman HV strategic business plan. This leadership role includes the matrix managing of activities involved in sourcing and procurement for Spellman HV sites around the world. In this highly impactful and visible role, you can expect to:

  • Work directly with external and internal stakeholders to create impactful and lasting improvement.

What You Will Do:

  • Operate at a strategic level, yet reflexively engage at the tactical level to ensure progress and are equally comfortable in a very hands-on role at times.

  • Lead the development and execution of our sourcing and procurement category strategies to ensure we meet our business goals and financial targets.

  • Partner cross-functionally/Globally within Spellman to identify and forecast business needs and create highly effective strategic vendor, contract, and negotiation programs.

  • Evaluate supplier/distributors capabilities and establish sources for new technologies and new markets as business requirements dictate.

  • Develop multiple regional sources of supply including emerging market sourcing regions.

  • Responsible for supplier relationship management & compliance, ensuring our suppliers can meet our growing business demands.

  • Build a high performing procurement & sourcing team and provide supervision, training, coaching and feedback to improve performance in meeting individual and functional goals.

  • Create and implement Procurement and Supply Chain KPI's to measure performance and monitor macro trends in supplier and contract base to address cost and supply risks and opportunities.

  • Continuously improve sourcing processes through the implementation of new tools/automating the current processes and drive risk mitigation/business continuity objectives.

  • Work collaboratively with the suppliers to establish and implement various stocking and procurement strategies. Examples may include Long Term Supplier Agreements, Annual Blankets, Vendor Managed Inventory, Kanban, In-plant stores, bonded stock, or any number of other programs as they may be applicable to the different global and regional sources of supply.

  • Establish optimum inventory and safety stocks. Participate in E&O discussions.

  • Work collaboratively with the S&OP manager to access demand/supply and devise strategies to address the gaps and optimize the inventory investment for maximum benefit.

  • Supervise domestic and international team members.

  • Lead, develop, and plan finished goods and assemblies through the SIOP process and link to production cycle. Work with leadership and across functions to drive SIOP maturity to world class ensuring customer OTD delivery above 95%

  • Excellent data analytics skills and able to effectively present information and lead change to stakeholders globally

  • Subject matter expert of ERP Systems and logic, specifically demand forecasting, capacity modeling, inventory forecasting and simulation modules.

  • Recommend and action changes to practices and procedures to support compliance with key local and global regulations impacting the business.

  • Ensure the consistent execution of all Standard Operating Procedures throughout Global footprint and ensure supply chain coordination within the Commercial Organization, Quality, Engineering, other Operations functions.

What You Need

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive sourcing experience and a minimum 5 years of management or leadership experience.

  • Must work exceptionally well in collaborative situations within a matrix organization.

  • Ability to be creative, transparent, and adaptive in a constantly changing environment.

  • Experience in building a procurement function, developing a detailed strategic plan and managing multiple procurement professionals across a number of commodities.

  • Excellent communication and listening skills; Ability to work cross-functionally; Comfort and experience discussing with and presenting to senior leadership.

  • Knowledge and experience with vendor and enterprise risk management & MRP/MPS. Rich hands-on experience working with MRP/ERP/MPS.

  • Strong negotiation skills for significant commercial deals.

  • Understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk.

  • Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to consider non-traditional approaches as our needs and our industry evolves.

  • Ability to travel: International: quarterly trips, Domestic (including MX): 15% (50% if not based in either Long Island, NY or Brownsville, TX)

Preferred Characteristics:

  • College degree in either Business, Finance, Engineering, or Logistics.

  • Procurement certifications.

  • Electronics/semi- conductor industry.

  • Experience working with tools such as SiliconExpert, ERP system Glovia, Kinaxis.

Our good faith estimates of the salary range for this role is:

Hauppauge, NY is $166,170 to $207.280.

Brownsville, TX is $146,230 to $182,400

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a highly competitive benefits package.

This position is preferred to be based out of either Hauppauge, NY or Brownsville, TX. Relocation is available to either area as desired. 15% international travel is expected.
