Director Personal Fiduciary Services
Manage and effectively service personal clients, including providing strategic advisory services. Responsible for serving clients by supporting/executing day to day letters of direction, ensuring proper account administration, managing, and expanding the current book of business, etc. Farming accounts/client relationships to increase current wallet share.
Position Responsibilities:
Personal Trust Administration
- Serve as visionary for Comerica's personal trust organization and create plan to execute the strategic vision in alignment with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
- Lead and oversee operations across all Personal Trust segmentations including
- Drive service level / product offering mix strategy for the personal trust administration team across all personal asset size segments.
- Foster strong relationship-building with key / major clients, acting as a trusted strategic advisor. Build relationships with key partners and serve as escalation contact across all personal trust relationships.
- Lead efforts to deepen wallet share by identifying opportunities within existing client relationships and working with Sales team members to capture new clients.
Strategic Growth
- Monitor and analyze industry trends and developments to consistently assess / update Personal Trust product / service lines to remain competitive and innovative.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including Financial Advisors, clients, private wealth colleagues, and regulatory bodies, to gather feedback and enhance the overall trust administration strategy.
- Facilitate strategic planning sessions, provide insights and recommendations to inform the organization's direction for Personal Trust administration.
- Guide product / service line strategy and define offerings for each asset size / relationship size.
- Collaborate with other executive leaders to develop and implement strategies for new business development and client retention.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance the organization's reputation and build networks.
Operational / Risk Responsibilities
- Promote an effective, sustainable risk management culture and ensure team adherence to risk management frameworks.
- Establish and maintain policies and procedures to ensure efficient and compliant trust administration across accounts of all asset sizes.
- Ensure that compliance requirements, including administrative account reviews and corporate compliance training, are met timely and accurately.
- Identify operational issues, system issues, etc. and set strategic direction for platform updates to be created in operating systems.
- Oversee the development and management of the budget for the Personal Trust Administration function, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and achievement of financial targets.
Team Management
- Lead and manage a high-performing team of trust advisors and support staff, ensuring professional growth and alignment with the organization's strategic goals.
- Foster a culture of excellence in client service, ensuring that all client interactions are handled with the highest level of professionalism and responsiveness.
- Manage all accounts / relationships and work with fiduciary strategy team to drive staffing normalization across population of RMs / TCSs.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to seek out and implement innovative solutions to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Ensure the Personal Fiduciary Services administration team is well-trained and knowledgeable about the unique aspects of all trust types under management, including regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Guide the team in applying enterprise risk management frameworks to all institutional trust activities, promoting a sustainable risk management culture.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management, or Trust Administration
- 10 years of experience in financial services industry, specifically focused in the areas of trust administration, operations and/or relationship management. Experience in leading large administrative teams in a service center / center of excellence environment is preferred.
- 10 years of experience in leading teams of subject matter experts that may be geographically dispersed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management, or Trust Administration
- Jurisdiction Doctrine (J.D.) with emphasis in Estate Planning or Trust Administration
Work Best Category: Category B - 3-4 days in office on designated days/1-2 days remote
Hours: 8:00am- 5:00pm Monday- Friday
Salary:To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
